M4 Grizzly with 17 pounder turret

Ooh ok, thanks for trying with the road wheels. ( I could use two extra for my Calliope build.) That would be perfect about the radio box! Thank you.

The open type?

Yes, I could use one or two to be bolted onto the front. Heres the log for it.

Cool I’ll send you a PM later, but the radio box parts, the appliqué (if you want what I have), and two road wheels are yours. I only ask that you pay shipping.

Sure I can do that!

Can anyone make out the inscription on the side of the Borden Grizzly/Firefly?

Yes Leo, it says Radley-Walters

Edit: Haha Mead beat me to it I was about to post the same thing!

FYI he was Canada’s leading tank Ace of WWII

Oooh interesting! I wasnt aware of that. Do you think this is how the tank was marked in WWll or it was for the museum?

I’m guessing but don’t know for certain that it was a commemoration the museum did after the war

That makes sense. Are there any photos of this tank in WWll or just restored?

Future research indicates he was the commandant of Borden in the 1960’s so I assume it is a respect thing placing his name on that tank

Would this be a suitable base kit for this build?

This sprocket was added later in its build-most has the normal Sherman sprocket.

Thanks for the info and link Dan!

Glad to help. There’s more to spotting it than sprockets.

Right. Is the Grizzly in that picture painted OD and its just faded ALOT or is it a different color?

I just e-mailed the Canadian war museum asking for information regarding this tank. I will post the response if I get one. (Fingers crossed)

Might be worth calling the Borden Military Museum. They didn’t have an email listed but the number is 705-423-3531
