I worked on Su-15’s wheels.
This is such a cool aircraft, I love these Cold War designs.

Sorry Yuri, Sloths are native to Central and South America, not Australia.

We only have animals that want to kill you.

Do you guys live in constant fear or it’s just to scare people coming over ??

Not saying we are scared but there was this guy…

As much as we like to joke and tease people, the reality is that it is really not that dangerous here. A lot of serious injury is due to stupidity, not the dangers.

Common sense tells you not to swim or camp where Saltwater Crocodiles live. If you want to ocean swim, do so on patrolled beaches between the safety flags where there are drum line nets to keep sharks out. Go past the drum lines and you are at some risk, but real attacks are actually very rare.

The surf lifesavers will put up signs to warn you when the Irikanji jellyfish (Stingers) have been pushed into shore, and there are signs everywhere in the North of Australia warning everyone of the season they come in.

Snakes will generally slither away as long as you do not corner them. I have had dangerous ones come into the house on a couple of occasions when the door was left open, but you just use a broom to gently guide them back out, or call a snake handler to remove them.

Yes, spiders come into homes, but they run away from you. Simple surface pest control sprays will keep most out or deal with any that come in.

Thanks for the input !!
Very helpful !
Snakes, spiders and scorpions… don’t like any of those that much.

Crocs and sharks… well that’s a quick death but you don’t see them coming

You should use your answer to make flyers for the Tourism board… :joy: :joy:

I should also mention, the snakes came into my home that was a large allotment surrounded by bushland. The only ones you would see in suburbia are ones in the large parklands and green spaces close to bushland and along creeks and streams.

We do have the odd bull shark that likes to go outside the bounds of the rivers when there is flooding:

Then when I lived in Carbrook Queensland:

My apologies. I didn’t check because I sincerely believed that all the strange animals only live in Australia.

I guess the spider problem was worse in the days of outside dunnies.

Your Sukhoi is really starting to look like an interceptor now. What process did you use for the natural metal finish? Will you seal the decals with something? How did you mask the canopy?

It’s great to see a kit with a reputation for being difficult built up at, it gives me courage to tackle my own.

Thanks Paul !
I used an aftermarket set of masks for the canopy,

Yes, I will seal the decals with Tamyia Markfit fixer at the end.

For the metal finishing, I just use Humbrol 27002 Metal cote paint.

I added the rest of the decals and stencils.
I will seal the decals tomorrow…
Fuel tanks, missiles, landing gear, pitot tube, wheels… still a lot of work ahead..

Hi Nito74,

The conversion was a gift from a modeler friend.

These are the photos available for now.

Got the Friul tracks burnished. Didn’t have any track blackening solution, and I rarely use Friul tracks so I didn’t want to buy any. I read online muriatic acid works. I have a pool so always have some kicking around. Gave it a go and wow it worked well! Reaction was quick and easy to control with some water. No orange residue as I’ve gotten in the past! They may need another dunk to darken

Also started on masking the turret. I hope this putty will work
