With HobbyBoss’s Puma AEV next up (potentially - depending on when the Border Merkava MkIID c/w interior arrives) these are useful.

  1. It shows how the carpet mine layer at the back is piped up (the kit doesn’t come with cables/pipes for this, or even have them molded on).

  2. It proves that it doesn’t matter how numerous, disparate and cosmopolitan your AFV accessory sets might be, they will work with just about any IDF AFV.

This has probably been asked, but what kind of vehicle is this, is it compatible with a Merkava MkIID (in terms of are MkIIDs being used in this conflict), and if so, is there a kit out there for this wheeled vehicle in IDF configuration?

I believe it’s a M985A2 HEMTT (recovery ?) variant fitted with a IDF-specific crane

No Merkava II in this operation. Oldest Merkava version I have noticed in photos is Merkava III Ramak

Would the M113 ARV be a better fit?

If you mean the one with the crane, the Fitter, yes.

The HEMTT Wrecker is the M984 in US service, but this is not an M984. It is an IDF-specific version of HEMTT recovery vehicle.
