H.P.
wow Frenchy you have really have been busy today, thanks for posting all those pictures.
They have lost sooooooooo much kit, its unbelievable
It is quite shocking, I imagine they would have difficulty fighting anywhere else at the moment, well not with modern kit, though I imagine they have a lot of pre-Warsaw pact collapse stuff to draw on.
Whether modern or Soviet, per a previously posted article, only 10% of their stockpile of vehicles were capable of starting. The rest are missing parts or entire engines because of the black market and supply line issues. So their supply of operational vehicles is actually very limited.
Im intrigued by the odd mixes of vehicles you see. Namely the post and images from H.P above on the side of the road seemingly abandoned (with some with visible damage) it seems an odd combination to be in a road move - 2 large tarcked Arty pieces, a bridgelayer and a tank - unless they were part of a larger convoy and were just breakdowns and left on the side ??
Could be part of a combined arms move. What gets me is the differences in damage. The Bridgelayer looks intact and the SP gun mainly so, possibly an automotive issue while the T72 looks like it’s took a catastrophic hit. There looks to be some deformation of the turret roof to my eyes apart from the obvious running gear issues unless it’s a glitch in the picture. I’ve said it before but it would seem like no recovery has been attempted, that being said they could have been getting towed and then had to be abandoned for one reason or another.
Please stay on-topic (the equipment being used and how to model it) and take the political discussions to the Off-Topic forum.

Thanks for the reminder Gino.

To be recovered, they have to have A) heavy recovery vehicles and B) a repair facility to recover them to. I’d say judging from photos they have neither. Also judging from the perfectly intact vehicles that have been abandoned for lack of fuel, they lack the motivation to do so.
