Modelling armour in Ukraine crisis

Thanks for that last image of the Ukrainian BMP-2. I’ve been looking for a clear photo of one to see if one in my stash might work… it will! Early turret w/o appliqué armor. And not in a single color paint scheme!

What are the ‘garden sheds’ on top of some of the vehicles?

in combat the front is really a generic term made to make ticket punchers feel good. In the Ukraine, I’d guess anywhere a hundred kilometers East of Poland is a front. The actual front could be five hundred yards in front of you or maybe even twenty five thousand yards ahead of you. It’s what you make of it. If the press is standing there (on TV), then the so called front is well behind them.

The garden sheds have been discussed in a topic in 1:1 tank talk

Thanks. Never seen them before.

Im still waiting for my T64BM Bulat

I got my degree in Russian back in '91, along with German. Since then I’ve mainly used it for hitting up on Russian women and not much else. Fortunately I can still recognize a word or two.

Is it just me, or do all the Russian vehicles look tired and neglected to you, too?

2nd echelon units?

The BMP-2 in my last post is Ukrainian but I agree about the condition of some Russian armored stuff…

Lots of the Russian soldiers also look tired and neglected.
Possibly from going without food for some days …

@Uncle-Heavy -Russian soldiers are officially training. They are surprised that there is a war. In Poland, we have a “behind the wall” war and it does not look good

T-90 :

The howitzer featured above is a 122 mm D-30, not a 152 mm gun-howitzer D-20…

@Uncle-Heavy you could be right on the lack of good food or any food. i have seen stories that the Russian troops were selling fuel from their vehicles to buy food.

and there is this video of Ukrainian soldiers examining Russian army rations and they are 7 years out of date!
