Modelling armour in Ukraine crisis

I left a comment in the Youtube posting to see if I can get a 3D printable file of the T-90M wreck 3D image. That would be sweet.

Kind regards,
James

Remember that there are different varieties of the Terminator.

Good luck, that would be awesome if it printed out well !

You have good eyesight if you can see the eyes in the small photo. I’m envious in a good way.

I live in Ecuador. Specifically in Manta, coastal Ecuador.

Damon.

Guys look at the banner on the home page, they set up a special forum (OFF-TOPIC GROUP) where you can go slug it out in the belief someone might change their mind.

Maybe it is poor eyesight on my part, but I do not recall seeing any T80 UD’s in Frenchy’s photos. There seemed to be many T 80U’s. I Thought the T 80UD was the preferred vehicle of the two types. Am I wrong and just missed something?

HP @Frenchy … get us back on track please.

Does anyone know the terminator variant that is now deployed ? And are they used in close or stand off support to just infantry in built up areas or do they use them in support of Armour ? How were they used in Syria ?

Judging by the very few pics available, it looks to be the BMPT Terminator 2

Is this the one with only two crew?

off topic posts have been moved to the topic:
https://forums.kitmaker.net/t/russia-vs-others/20446
It is in the Off-Topic Shenanigans so combatants who wish
to continue bashing each others countries and their respective
politicians are welcome to do so in the new topic.
The only rule is that personal attacks will not be tolerated,
call your politicians all kinds of names (it goes with their job, if
they campaign to get elected they know what they are getting
themselves into) but DO NOT call each other names.

The recruiting office for the Off-Topic Shenanigans is over here:
https://forums.kitmaker.net/g
I hope it is self-explanatory, I was ā€œvolunteeredā€ to that group so
I haven’t gone through the joining process myself.

The Off–Topic Shenanigans contains other stuff as well, humour and
funny videos get posted over there so it is a"mixed menu".

Edit: One or two of the moved posts were difficult to judge so I may have moved one or two too many.
Better to be on the safe side …

Terminator 1 has a crew of 5 — Terminator 2 is supposedly a retrofit and possibly for export ? and crew reduced to 3 after the removal of the grenade launchers ?

Self Edit for the BMPT Terminator role. looks like its main mission is MBT cover -

Mission[edit]

When used in urban terrain, each main battle tank is deployed with two BMPTs. Outside of urban warfare that ratio is reversed with one BMPT protecting two main battle tanks.[7] This results from the complexity of fighting in urban terrain and the need for a versatile anti-personnel platform that can engage multiple targets at once and on different height levels. The introduction of such a vehicle makes urban fighting less stressful on MBTs and can relieve them of some of the workload so that they can concentrate on their main objective of engaging other MBTs and hardened targets. The BMPT’s armor protection is equal to that of an MBT and its powerful armaments allow it to engage virtually every enemy formation while operating in a common battle formation. Due to the multiple weapons systems found on the BMPT, this vehicle is able to fire at multiple targets simultaneously.[5] These features significantly help increase the combat effectiveness of tank units and decrease their losses from enemy close-combat assets.[8]

Oops. I posted in the ā€˜other’ thread. Australia has committed another 20 Bushmasters to the Ukraine. If only a kit manufacturer would make one.

There was once one manufacturer, Australian, too. Showcase models, now no longer. I’d snap one up now if I could.

According to the caption, here’s one seen near Bobryk at the end of February :

EDIT : after a closer examination it appears the one above is in fact a ā€œUā€ not a UD…Thanks Simon for the correction.

Thank you to Gurkhan…
ā€œUmbrellasā€ and ā€œvisorsā€ against the ā€œJavelinsā€, judging by the photo data, gunners also began to receive. In the photo, self-propelled guns 2S3 ā€œAcaciaā€ with a similar makeshift protection.
The fragility of its design and the clearly insufficient distance from the plane of the screen to the armor are embarrassing. So there is reason to doubt the effectiveness.
