Now that is a pic screaming out to be a dio if ever there was one…
I bought a plow from Royal Model for this photo a long time ago.
Then I discovered that this is a fairly popular topic.
There are a few pictures of T 64AVs in use by The republics before the war, can’t remember seeing any current ones but then I’ve not been looking that closely to differentiate between a AV and BV
This is where, perhaps, we almost go full circle.
Tanks used on the battlefield had their origins in farm equipment.
H.P.
Yes you are quite right- I believe some vehicles from WW2 were used for farming both in Europe and elsewhere when they were no longer needed. I daresay the same might be true of some pieces in Ukraine eventually as well.
That is a nice little plow- I didn’t know Royal Model made one.
Indeed it would, an interesting take on this period in the war.
Exactly the sort of thing I was talking about, thanks for the link Frenchy!
From Wiki:
" A Canadian company, Morpac Industries, Inc., still produces heavy-duty, off-road load carriers based on Sherman components. These vehicles are used in the construction of electricity transmission lines in remote areas.
In 1947 Vickers produced the Shervick which was a Sherman chassis converted into a heavy tractor. It was designed for clearing land for peanut farming in Tanganyika."
I also recall a TV program about the logging industry in Canada or the U.S. where one of their vehicles was built on a Sherman hull.
There are several Valentine tanks converted to agricultural vehicles in Australia, some fairly intact but many more derelict.

Here are my builds from the Russo/ Ukrainian war of 2022, still have a lot more work to be done,. May possibly put all into a big diorama, or do a bunch of small ones, T-72’s, gaz tiger, Btr-80a, typhoon VDV, lots more weathering and building needed, but enjoy building this modern warfare as it’s a break from my Vietnam building stuff.
I think I saw some of the Valentines you mentioned, they were posted at some point on the old site if I recall correctly.
Where did you find the Trumpeter T72B3 with the grating and bag armor?
In Z scale, no doubt.
Bravo, 18bravo. Take a bow.
