I noticed that too. Maybe for deep sand, or it’s only what they inherited from the USSR?

I’ll bet they don’t hold an edge long on that stuff…

Newly released pictures by the BBC, both destroyed Russisct AFVs The article itself Ukraine war: Images show devastated towns near front line - BBC News.

A destroyed Russian tank lies near a church in the city of Sviatohirsk, Donetsk

The turret of a destroyed Russian tank pokes out from a swamp in the village of Shandryholove, Donetsk (diorama on a budget…).

I think the turret is on its back, if i’ve identified the turret ring correctly, but not sure what other part of the tank is visible.

The flat area which looks like a Russcist green armour plate or sheet metal is
most likely ice.
It tends to happen on stagnant or slow moving water in cold climates.
The rapidly descending airborne turret smashed a hole in the soft ground
which later filled up with (less than clean) water and froze.

The real rest of the tank is outside the photo.

Really shocking!!! :face_with_peeking_eye:
Maybe they should complain to their mum, that she hasn’t prepared them for the harsh images of dancing soldiers!!!

I guess the AA gun above is a Yugoslav-built 20 mm M75 (licence-built HS-804)
