Narrative?

The fact that Putin flew to N Korea and did an arms deal is verifiably true actually.

The fact that RuZZian soldiers themselves are reporting that N Korean ammunition is sub-standard and is causing weapon malfunctions is also verifiably true actually.

i seem to remember British troops declaring their .50 cal ammo was sub-stabdard during the war in Afghanistan and that they preferred American ammo.

Sure those are facts. Do you know what ammo was used in the video? That is what is being discussed.

S-60 on MT-LB is a Russian “invention”
Ammo could be old, but the rounds still visible in the rack look fresh (shiny brass, could have been polished but I doubt it).
Ammo could be poorly manufactured in Kims Kingdom, possibly but not likely even sabotaged if someone is bold enough or has a death wish…
Ammo could be Soviet manufacture = old, see above.
Ammo could be Russian product, made by drunk or couldn’t-care-less-about-this-job workers, sabotage is a possibility.
Ammo could be Chinese, possibly better quality control, sabotage could be a possibility but not likely.
Don’t know if Ukraine produced ammo for the S-60.

Sabotaged ammo left out in the open for Russian troops to find and use?
I would personally be very hesitant to use “free” ammo found on the battlefield but Vanja and Sasha might have a different opinion …

It’s been known to happen.

I think we were buying from a local supplier/manufacturer, IIRC the U.K. has never produced .50 BMG…

Cheers,

The crew might not have known. Supply bubba finds ammo to help out or commander says use this. Maybe a supply convoy was hit before delivery and security forces arrived in enough time to prevent ammo being stolen but not quick enough that a surprise or two wasn’t “added”.

Does anyone have the reference photo for the Azov Battlion UAZ 469 on the Star Decals sheet? I’ve tried searching high and low and have not been able to find it.

MACV-SOG Eldest son and Italian green missions spring to mind :sunglasses:

hi mate, i never said we made the stuff, we don’t seem to manufacture anything these days. i just remember reading about it in a book about British troops in Afghanistan.

According to a caption I found, this 2S43 “Malva” 152-mm SPG (based on a BAZ-6910 8x8 truck chassis) was damaged by a M30A1 Alternative Warhead Rocket filled with 182,000 pre-formed tungsten fragments…
