Probably a 1/144 give the box size. Academy and few others make one.
That looks like a model of USS Arizona. Might be the 1/350 kit or the old Revell box scale kit.
ERTL (or MPC) 1/25 Mack DM 800 truck on Yves Montand’s office desk in La Menace (1977)
There’s another truck in the same room but I can’t ID it (International Transtar II Eagle ???)
H.P.
I built that international kit as a kid and I think you’re right.
Maybe a bit off-topic, but in Dreamworks 3D computer-animated comedy sports film, Turbo, which features an ordinary garden snail, Theo, a.k.a Turbo, whose dream is to win the Indy 500 (!), one of Turbo’s sponsors is Bobby who owns a small LHS called Valley Hobby
Some of the boxes on display ressemble Tamiya ones…
H.P.
Back in the late 80’s CITV in the UK had a puppet show called Round the Bend (not to confused with the Australian kids show Round the Twist that CBBC were showing at the same time). The show was made by the same team behind the satirical puppet show Spitting Image, but this was made for kids. The show has a lot of animated shorts, including the classic ‘Attack of the Atomic Banana’ a spoof of 50’s B-movies.
In the opening scenes we can see a Morris, Jeep and Dingo from Matchbox 1/76 sets.
There is this scene from the movie “Big” where Tom Hanks tells Elizabeth Perkins not to touch his ship model as the glue isn’t dry.
Attack of the Atomic Banana
That is actually quite funny… is that meant to be Cary Grant?
I know Revell on University Challenge didn’t go down that well with some people earlier in this thread, but at the Women’s World Cup…

Reminds me of Kent Models, who specialise in Japanese car kits, they sponsor a car in the MSUK Drift Pro Championship.
Yes! It’s a spot on impersonation and the puppet even looks like him.
They did another shot in b&w called ‘False Teeth from Beyond the Stars’. It was a brilliant show.
Thst looks like 1/350, wonder what it is,Tamiya Enterprise ?
Not at all!
I think that’s a nod to Valley Plaza Hobbies, a legendary shop in LA. It even looks like the front of the shop if memory serves. They moved to Reno then closed.
Don’t know if this counts or not but I thought I would post this picture from “Tommy Boy”
Is that Anna Friel? I remember when she was in Brookside in the 80s.
