Johnny thank you.

Here’s the start of groundwork, simple but hopefully effective. Starting to paint each individual rock adding depth to the textures.

SableLiger and heliman, thanks for your comments and interest, I found this amazing product called smart mud that I used. Materials for dioramas have evolved over the years to some pretty amazing stuff , now waiting on some AK interactive mud puddle gel to arrive.

If I could build a base that nice, I wouldn’t even have to put a vehicle on it and I could call myself a artist.

loncray I must say your comment made my day but this is my first terrestrial diorama other than moonscapes in quite sometime . They’re are all kinds of new products since I’ve done any diorama modeling and they make it easier to create the most realistic finish possible.

First mud puddle pour, I’am waiting on my static grass applicator to arrive to finish the dryer grass but things are progressing.I’ve added oil paint to the features, rocks and tire tracks and next up will be some dust pigments that I’ve started on the MATV.

Looking at the pictures I see a couple of areas that need tweaking on the figure (oil paint)which still needs markings and final parts.

Darren,
Thank you so much for your interest and comments.

I think it’s finished, might add a little more grass to the groundwork and I have to finish the ODA sergeant’s MK18 mod 0 which will sit inside the MATV but this is gonna be it. I want to thank everyone who’s been posting and watching this build, I’ve learned a lot during the process , found a few new products so now it’s time to figure out what’s next on the build list.

We all dream about being “as good as Uncle NightShift” but you actually are - and then some. Utterly mindbogglingly good mate, that base and those figures… man.

Is there anything you cant do? hahahaha

I would love to see you do a tutorial on that base alone

Steve, your work is just outstanding. Your detailing talent is amazing. The engine and interior are a wonder to look at and the exterior finish is perfect. The excellent terrain and figures round out a world class model. Simply brilliant in all aspects!
