Have made a proper start on the Panther 2 hull, wheels are on and the hull locating holes have been filled as I won’t be fitting some of the parts you’d normally find.
Have also mocked up how the spare missile turntable will look …
Will finish making up the other missiles tomorrow night.
Thanks Peter. Appreciated.
Added some wiring from the engine to the wheel hub/box and some hydraulic piping … What are they for … No idea, but it adds to the feel lol
I mocked everything up and it just looked to tall… So drastic measures were called for … I have a plan, but it’s going to take some reworking… And it involves the Jagdtiger barrel … I know I know …just bear with me please
The Panther II hull is almost done done now. And it’s together, out off all the Panthers I’ve done, this Amusing Hobby one fits the best. No gaps, no filing or sanding, it went together perfectly.
Will add the last few bit to it and then try and get everything primed.
I still need to make a blast deflector for the actual Rheintochter launcher, and that will be made from part of a centurion engine deck… Waste not want not
GreenStrawberry’s 1/20 Robot Drone Sniper built and puttied.
I still need to patch up a few areas before washing and priming. I added some dark green spare parts boxes to the rear of the figure’s waist.
It wasn’t an easy build because of the lack of pin and holes. The arms and sniper rifle were hard to align and the rifle should be zero degrees horizontal but to get the hands and arms to meet, the rifle is glued at an inclined angle…nothing some creative angled groundwork can’t resolve to make it level.
Thinking of doing the Panther II lower hull sides and running gear in hull red, the upper hull and spare missile rack turntable in a green… Not sure yet though…
I know it may look a bit clunky, but the Miniart one was to tall and the whole thing when mocked up didn’t look right.
It’s basically the breach of a Jagdtiger, the bottom 1/4 of the same barrel, part of the Miniart lower frame, some of the reinforcing cross bars, the crane pulley and chain and hook and part of an on gearbox. I will put some bolt heads in a few places and I may put some wiring or cables on it as well to try and make it look like it’s operated electronically…
