I think it has been my best buy yet. I did the above with the .2 needle and it gave some nice tight lines
I have upped to the .3 needle mainly for spraying primer which gave me fits in the past but not any more.

So this is what I came up with. It was really an awesome time. Thanks for the great ideas. I had/have many ideas and yes I am building them all. I hope it somewhat suits the theme. What if Germany had walkers. Anyway I will make a new topic called ‘German Walkers’ with a little script and some better pictures so that it’s not too congested here.

Very impressive … Try and do some progress pics if you can next time as loads of people enjoy seeing the build process as well… great idea though and it looks great … what scale is it ?
1/72 Scale. So sorry about the progress pics. I only read that today. I will definitely do that in the future. I have some here if it interests anybody.
I know you mean more of the armor. I must remember not to get into it too much into it (because it’s so much fun painting and weathering) and take pictures of that too. I apologize again for doing this the wrong way round. It’s my first campaign but it wont happen again.

Fallen a bit behind with this as I have been concentrating on the Challenger 2 I’m doing as well.
Got the tracks for the Panther II done.
Primed, then a coat of flat black, then dark iron.
Once that’s dry, will do a MIG Track wash coat, then MIG Track rust.

Aloha All,
Progress on my USA AT-ST Scout Walker, M1. Got the base Olive Drab onto it. I think I still need some more fading/blending, and some detail painting. Going for a fairly worn look to the paint. Not necessarily damage, but hastily/poorly applied paint that is showing its wear.
I’m trying to decide if I should assemble it for the rest of the painting, or assemble after painting. Hmm…

Update time.
Panther 2 tracks have the MIG Track wash applied and they look good. That was done over a coat of Tamiya dark iron.
The missile resupply frame / turntable is being put together. The left to right gantry is on and secured but still movable.
I didn’t go crazy with the SAMs, kept it simple with a Matt black body (Halfords rattle can) fins are Tamiya Med grey and the nose cone is Tamiya IJN light grey with a yellow band.
I did the missile lifting harness, and still need to do 2 sets of straps for that.
Hull on the Rheintochter and Panther 2 have had some minimum chipping, then a MIG Track wash and then an OIF/OEF wash put on , which was about a mix of 60% wash to 40 thinner as I wanted a pretty dirty grimy look.
Lights a bit off so will try and do a few more in natural light tomorrow.
Will add some graphite pencil to the edges and handles.

A few more little bits done
Have finished and put together the spare missile loading frame and hoist.
Added a few little details like the power cable from the Aux engine to hoist motor and added top rail guides to the hoist wheel run to prevent it tipping.
And everything test fitted.
Test fitted the track on one side
Goes on easy and although it looks very loose, there is just enough slack that I can get the track sag just right without putting any pressure on the track join or wheel stations…
Going to dry brush Vallejo oily steel on the inside track surface where the road wheels run … Stay tuned

That is coming together really well John. It is really a “stand up and take notice of me” piece of machinery.
Hmmm… I suppose it is too late to mention that the fins were added to the missile after the body was on the launcher… 
I am just wondering how they managed to lift the missile and slide it forward without the tail fins hitting the frame?

On the original Rheintochter that’s right… However these SAM 6s have them fitted 
and this is a Rheintochter Mk3 …smaller slender missile with longer range and higher yield smaller warhead… Don’t you just love what if’s lol…
Ref the clearance when it’s being moved, I did actually measure that and when the harness and straps are on a missile it does clear… Just, and as with most things, there would be a crew with it to do some basic man handling getting from A to B…
