Sci-Fi and Alternative history XI

Personally I’ve never seen the kits in the flesh, so I’ve always been interested in what the quality was like.
They’re going back to before I seriously got into modelling. The old shop in my home town used to stock them, so I remember the box tops but that’s all. At that time I was mostly doing cheapo Matchbox and Star Wars and Trek if I ever got a bit of extra cash for for birthdays, Christmas etc…

I’m still surprised that no one has picked up the licence to produce new kits from the films, given the cult following they have. Surely the Dropship would sell like hotcakes?

Really great plans for fantastic builds.

Especially looking forward to your missile frigate @Damraska It is outstanding scratchbuilding!

Thanks for all the interest, guys! :raised_hands:t2::slightly_smiling_face:

I will join in with this if I may

This looks like a fun kit, hopefully that will prove to be true :penguin:

I agree. If they were to just re-release the Dropship and APC that would make a mint. If they retooled them they would sell even better.

I’d buy the dropship and APC in a heartbeat. I have a 3 foot long 3D printed model of the Sulaco that I bought on Etsy.

I am into this, thinking about a secret operation connected from Nazi Germany to their japanese Allies using some 1947 jet plane or something like that …

Great choice, Ernie! I wonder how difficult it will be to get all “rotor wings” to align perfectly…

Looking forward to see more :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ve been having a think today and I’ve got it down to three choices.

  1. An original series Kelvin-Class starship from the Polar Lights 1/1000 Enterprise. Already have a sheet of decals custom printed for this, the USS SAGAN. I’m not the first to come up with the idea so I can’t take any credit. Almost as soon as the reboot came out, people were already making it from kit bashing or CGI modelling.

  1. Cozmic Scale Models 3D printed Clydesdale-class tug. Not many parts to this, so shouldn’t take long.

  2. The old AMT Romulan Warbird. A big, impressive looking ship.

So, I’m curious as to what peoples thoughts on these? Anyone have a preference as to what they’d like to see built?

I like to see something … New ?
A lot of “out of the box” builds all around .

That Romulan warbird looks the most impressive to me.

4 likes so far for the Warbird!
There is something quite sinister looking about the ship.

a vote for the warbird from as i have never seen one built.

It’s not one you see very often.
The plan was to build it as a triple display with a TOS Bird of Prey from the 1/2500 TOS set and a D-7 in Romulan colours.

Just spotted something interesting I forgot I had, the Imai Spectrum jet from Captain Scarlet.

Anybody want to see it built?

That’s a silly question. It’s Captain Scarlet, of course it should be built.

…and speaking of Captain Scarlet… in two days it will have been three years since I started this:

Although I hate to rush things, I believe I’ll try and do a bit more. Last application of putty should be dry enough to sand now. Onward!

“Spectrum Is Green”

Cheers,
Colin

I didn’t get far with the one I started! Tricky kit for it’s size.

I support the idea!

Stephen, another vote for the Romulan warbird from me. Looks super cool and evil. Would love to see it in model form.

Colin, I remember that kit from one of the previous Sci-Fi campaigns. I cannot remember if it was finished(?) was it your kit? If it was and was not finished it qualifies for this campaign regardless of how far along the project is. Just a reminder :slightly_smiling_face:

Here is our medal for the campaign.

@michaelsatin , can you add it to the campaign page in the first post. It seems like I do not have rights for editing (?)
