Cheers Jacko. A very small update this time, extinguishers done and fitted and also the convoy plate painted on and the rear mudguard hooks in place. The Eduard set includes rear mudguards which I’d like to fit in the raised position. That won’t be done much later, probably one of the last things to do otherwise I’m bound to knock them off.
It’s coming along beautifully. I haven’t been checking in much but may have to pick this kit up. I have a model show to go to tomorrow, maybe a vendor will have it for a decent price.
Great job on the camouflage!
The Meng kit might be your best bet. This needs quite a few additions to bring it up to speed, namely the Friul tracks and Eduard etch set. I’m considering getting the Meng kit to build it as a wagon in Estonia. Only problem is I think the kit comes without a turret basket.
Can check my boxes, for the academy basket for you.
Well that has been a very enjoyable read this morning. I am glad I found the thread!
The Warrior is excellent. Great work so far.
That would be great if you could please. I’d pay postage of course and swap for anything you may need now or in the future. My plan would be to build something like this as I have seen someone else build one on here that looked really good.
Very nice paintjob. The red extinguishers are really eye-catching.

Cheers Frank, PM sent.
Started on the front TES mounts yesterday afternoon on a rainy Sunday. I’m quite pleased with them. Got to add the retro reflector mounts on the top and the laser detector mounts on the bottom and then wiring. The mantlet ejection port will need drilling to allow the wiring access into the turret and the etch port cover fitting.
Really great work on those mounts.
Cheers Johnny, it’s a bit guesswork as there are only a few pics I have that show the properly but they look the part. Built the retroreflector mounts and put them on, drilled the mantlet and fit the etch ejection port cover.
again mate … really looking good. Will really pop with all the cables once they are in place … dont forget the Bat sim speaker
A few different iterations of the speaker, then decided to go for the easiest option that still looks the part. It’s secured to the turret lifting eye by a very rudimentary mount as I have no pictures of what the real thing looks like. I’ve done the rear retro-reflectors also but still have the laser detectors to add, they shouldn’t be difficult as they are a simple shape. Wiring will be done after painting as I have ordered some black 28 gauge wire, there was no way I was going to try and paint each individual wire. Also added the empty case deflector to the front of the mantlet.
Brilliant effort mate
This build just keeps getting better and better. Exceptional detailing and scratchbuilding talent.
thats the version I built
Thanks for the encouragement guys, it’s all starting to come together. Fitted the laser projector to the barrel trough. The etch clamps are nothing like the real thing so I cut them off and scratched new mounts from styrene strip. This is probably the limit of how small I can go with scratching due to eyesight limitations and the need to hold my breath while I place things onto the kit!
Yes it was yours I mentioned, came across it the other day again. Where did you get the printed rear bin, if you don’t mind me asking?
That mount is really great G … and yeah, I think that be about the limit of the scale I could go down to without my eyes bleeding !! It does give the whole TES kit a really authentic look, Excellent
