Another quick update: pinwashes on 
Though the Nordic F-16s were generally clean, I couldn’t resist adding some panel washes just to pick out the detail. I’m still toning this down a bit, but the idea is to show off the detail of some parts.

Looking fantastic!! Love the F-16

And the underside
I did come across an oddity… And it’s the only niggle so far really.
On the underside, running along the center is a small channel… On the channel are 4 slots … Now it gives you the option to put a piece in the slot to make it flush, which I did. The points of the tweezers are on it
But oddly, that piece only fits half the length of the channel, there is nothing on the sprues for the rear bit…
So I added a cut length of plasti rod and glue to get soft, then sort of levelled it off against the front section … Just seemed odd.
Will get a few more bits done tomorrow

So I found this IPMS review and I think this is why it had no cover. I do t know if that is technically correct for the load out what they did any way.

Thanks Ryan and Peter for that info. I just looked at the destruction sheet for this and there is mention of that load out on it. It has an extra 2 rear mounting packs for a total of 4 AIM 54s either side of the centerline and the 7s are on the wing stub pylons… Cheers

Still would have been nice to have a second plug if doing a different load out. You fix is simple and easy enough.

Yeah I’m surprised they didn’t add the rear plug for it… if I had known about it beforehand and before I put the rear 54 mounts down, it would of been a nice cleaner fix with plastic putty …
I think once the 54s are fitted, they will hide most of that center area though

Okay, did a lot over the weekend - am nearly done Have attached nearly everything on the plane. Unfortunately, the friend I bought the kit from forgot to put in some of the clear parts needed for the fuselage. No matter, that can be applied in the weeks ahead - but apart from that and some detail painting, she’s done! Just making sure all the detail that needs painting gets the proper attention.

here are better photos of the kits after some more detail painting. Calling her done (or at least until I get the missing clear parts)
So in summary:
Kinetic 1/48 F-16AM Royal Norwegian Air Force
Pros:
Nice choice of markings from different nations
Great array of weapons
One-piece fuselage incorporates wings
Cons:
Very bad/tricky fit in multiple places - especially the nose. You will need your sanding stick and putty/filler ready.
The Canopy was super tricky to attach - part of the edge broke when I tried to force the part down.
Minor nitpick: the kit does not offer smoked/tinted canopy option like other competitors
Vague instructions in several areas
The landing gear needs to be attached early on the build, and it’s pretty wonky/fragile. The gears are also not aligned flat, so care will be needed (I tried to normalize the angle by adjusting the wheels)
All in all - not an easy kit, I wish I had access to the “Gold Series” that Kinetic re-released

Just click on your avatar on the top right - Select the ‘Preferences’ icon (head and shoulders), then select ‘Preferences’ the word. Scroll down the page to ‘Name’. You can edit it there. It is an optional field, so your actual Full Name can be shortened or you can just add ‘Nigel’ if you prefer. Press the save changes button after that and you are sweet.
