T-34/85 campaign

So I need some help. I am working on the turret and I am looking at it and it looks weird were the casting of the side and the top connects. Is this kit missing a weld

detail? Or does this look correct? Anyone have a reference Pic of this area?

Glad to see you here

Thank you. I have been needing to build a tank and happened to have this one in my stock and jumped on it.

So I built a antenna based on the box art but after looking at alot of reference pictures I haven’t seen many of them. Is the box art wrong with the antenna detail or are the the antennas junk and all got broken and lost? Any opinions would be great. Thanks

Most photos show the vehicles without antennas. But I think it is just that most were removed. Inaction photos show the antenna in place.

Well I feel a little better knowing I didn’t waste my smallest brass wire now haha. I think I will keep it until the day it goes missing like so many before this one haha thanks for your post

I got it built and will let everything dry good overnight. I still got some glue lines on the fuel tanks that look good under the magnifieing glass but might need some work once I prime it. Next time I build one of these I think I might try to build brass fuel tanks. I think they would look more real after painting but these will work.

I am glad Nikos had a good answer for you. I knew of two types for the 85’s both where very small provided in the Rye Field kit.

Even thought 1/72 lots of good information.

I am not surprised your done building already, looks great.

Well I still got to build the tracks! I am kinda procrastinating on those. The tracks in this kit are plastic and didn’t really enjoy putting together. The last set like these I put together were kinda a pain.

You can see if laying down a strip of tape, connecting the links along the way, wrap around idler or sprocket and add a little glue on the inside of the track and remove tape after the glue sets and adjust track, along with adding more glue as needed.

Another option is make or buy a jig, Hobbytrax makes generic and specific vehicle model types.

Pressured from Rob, I picked up my RFM T-34/D30 from my pile of shame.
If you haven’t built a RFM T34 buy one now!
They are great kits and at a great price.image
