You could fill the hull with a filler so that any leaks to the interior would be small and not cause any issues with the pour volume. Modeling clay? Sand, Plaster etc… The weight would also reduce the tendency to float.
For the rear bank where it’s given way, I have also ordered some AK Terrains Wet Ground which I’m going to try on that …
The silt , firstly it will only be on the higher hull area… I was thinking initially to mix some earth pigments with the MIG acrylic resin and carefully apply that in recessed areas, corners, in between the visible ERA blocks, that mixture will have a permanent semi damp look once dry, I was then going apply some earth/sand mixture pigment on top of that but sparingly and then fix that in place to try and give those areas a silty wet bottom going into dry look on top if that makes sense …
Just discovered this topic… Nice process you make there Johnny! One thing that would be a great addition would be an oil trail going with the stream, from a leaking fuel line or something like that… I just haven’t the faintest clue how to create it!
Glad you found it Erwin … I had been thinking the same thing. My plan was once I have done the main acrylic pours and do a level of the AK puddles pour, I will let that fully set. Then I was going to use some x19 tamiya smoke and try and make some flow patterns and build up of spilt fuel around the external fuel drums. Once that has fully dried, i would pour a very thin level of the AK puddles on top of it… or something along those lines ???
I had thought about testing a small area on scrap plastic with the AK puddles, then blending x19, x23 x26 & x27 …? or just carefully brushing them close to each other so they blend together naturally ??
