Tank Destroyers 2 Campaign Active

Nice job with the OD. :+1: :+1:

:grinning: Not only pasewise… pretty similar models as well… yet turning out completely different… shows personal preference can alter a kit completely from a similar (or even the same) kit made b some one else…

Wouldn’t that be someting for a campaign? everybody doing the same kit… but turning out different models…

You sure are doing a nice job!!

I like the idea but getting everyone to agree on a kit might be bit difficult. Not to mean that we are a disagreeable crowd but in terms of who has what in the stash or a kit that is widely available and not too costly.

Tried a new type of OD, first time using the Mr. Color OD. Must say I am very pleased and will happily add it to my collection of other OD varieties.

Did you use it straight up or lighten it a bit? Color is very similar to Polly Scale OD which I always liked/used when it was available. Still have half a bottle left but haven’t built anything OD for a while.

Bit of both. Straight up over a black/white shadow coat and the lightened it a bit and hit the some of the upper surfaces.

We have very similar panting styles. Can’t really beat the black/white preshade for monotone schemes.

I did it the other way: used a lighter version of the base paint on some spots, and Tamiya smoke on other areas…

Looks great @bwilt

Ok Im finally calling my Dragon Ferdinand 150/100 done!
The last things I added were a little pigment, grease, and the rope for foliage.

Im honestly really happy with the end result. (Who knows at some point I might add the foliage as seen in the real pics.

What do yall think?

Great job Ezra, you really toned down the red-brown primer colour nicely.

Brilliant work. Very good painting which really convey the urgently done work on the original

Looks really nice! The red finish is spot on!

Very nice red rhino :+1:

McRunty and Bwilt: nice contrast in method for OD. Both very successful.

Ezra: great job on the Ferdinand. Came out very well.

Happy Modeling,
Zon

Calling my M36 done. Went with a dusty look. Not 100% happy with the dust look but since its unfixed pigment powder, I can always remove it in the future if I want.

Thank you for the campaign. Was a nice excuse to haul this kit out of the stash especially since it was one of the oldest ones in there.

Looks very good, really nice finish!

Looks great Rory. I find pigments too hard to control so I only use them for tracks and deep grooves in suspension these days. My weapon of choice for dust is very thin Vallejo paint, but you seem to have been able to keep a handle on your application. Very nice.

Hmm another build I need to finish. I just need to get etch done then paint, so I’d better de-digitise…

Looks very nice, which model is it?

I think my entrie for this nice campaign is finished, the M10 Achilles in (my version of a) IDF configuration. Very similar model to the MRunty M36, jet completely different looks in the end.
