The Army of "Z"

Thanks. They are surprisingly hard to find when you actually need one. I’ve got a couple on the way.

Not surprising as Live Resin went to direct sells a few years ago. So this it’s UA related. LR has a tread on here that they used to update regularly.

That’s right - both because supplies of all their products have been cut off and the contemporary Russian stuff is in such high demand.

That is quite the font of info and images there. Thank you. I may attempt to do a bit of the rear ammo storage section. Maybe what can be seen with the rear hatch about 1/4 open.

So I got started on the 2S1 last night. Trumpeter kits normally go a little faster. When I resume this evening I’ll be making a replacement wave deflector for the front. I’ve seen a few styles, but never that large and with four openings in it.

This isn’t my first rodeo with this kit, so I know where the trouble spots are in case anyone is planning on building this kit. First off, good luck building the assembly in the upper right of the photo below. Much easier to assemble it right on the turret.

And part D44 simply isn’t wide enough, even when assembling it on the turret, to fit in its frame. Easy solution - add it underneath after cementing that other other assembly in place. You can even see in this photo how it doesn’t quite meet.

The rest of it is pretty much like any other kit - sticking bits of plastic together…

Robert, maybe as a former artillery man you may know what this is although I’ve never seen anything similar on U. S. vehicles. The stalklike assembly folded to the roof next to the cupola, any ideas?

With direct sales only and being located in Russia LiveResin is in a real bind. With Paypal and Visa not allowed in Russia you may need a Chinese credit card to order.

Just a sidenote. German law enforcement authorities decided that the use of the letter “Z” is on the same “criminal” level as using Swastikas and SS runes.

I’ll continue to use it. Im Knast bin ick schon jewesen.

(The scary part is that Google can now translate my Berliner dialekt)

Not that well, either “I was beautiful in prison” or “I’ve been in jail before”. And mu High School Germain teacher would have been livid over “ick”.

Ick, Icke - pretty much a Berlin thing. That’s where I learned German. My High School German teacher, Frau Fitz, told me I was the worst student she had ever had. Ah, if only she could hear me now…

Do you plan to show your models in Germany? Of course you can show Nazi insignia over here. But you have to make a statement that it´s for educational or historical purposes only.
If you plan to build a destroyed or abandonned vehicle, I have some manuals of the DDR Landstreitkräfte.

HS German was in Texas, teacher, Fraulein Joslin?, absolutely hated how Texans couldn’t roll “ich bin” off their tongues and always came up with “ick been”.

Your German teacher should have been livid about not keeping track of the umlauts:
schon: already, yet, really, anyway, all right
schön (with the two dots above the o) means beautiful et.c.

The problem is that Google translate tries both alternatives when translating from German schon,
it tries the beauty variant and the already stuff

And if you are using an English keyboard like me, it doesn’t do umlauts, or other symbols.

It will.
hübsch
schön

schießen

Or Danish even, which I still know enough of to annoy people from København.

How the hell do you do that?!

If you have an Apple product, you can hold down on the appropriate letter, and those foreigner characters show up….

Well I had to beat Windows around the head but I convinced it to add them.

I guess you really can teach an old dog new tricks.

In stark contrast to actual events, my “Z” Army continues to grow. Just a few more pouches and a radio to add.
