we made masks for 3 models… I will arrange it by quality:
Zvezda
Meng (but the equipment is better)
Tiger (This is the worst thing I’ve seen ((( )
My tanker figure with the 6b48 is coming along. You can even see the Makarov protruding from its “holster.” The sun even shines on a dog’s ass some days…
There is an awful lot of filler (melted sprue) under the shoulder that needs to cure now. Once that happens I can do a little final shaping, add some straps and a panel on the lower back potion of the body armor, and a strap for the goggles. Then he’s ready for paint using the very same make up sponge method I recommended a few days ago on this thread. Whether or not I can still pull it off as well as Neo did remains to be seen.
In the mean time I can go back to my tractor/driver combo. Several weeks ago a managed a reasonable hand giving the finger. I’m still trying to get a driver with the right look. I’ve been trying to modify this guy to be seated in the tractor:
His right hand will be on the steering wheel, while he gives the finger out of the opened window of the cab.
It’s a bit of a stretch - I may have to have him driving the tractor from the jump seat. I suppose that’s possible. I’m going to need more time to get it just right. Plus I think I actually have Yaroslav’s running Russian figure in bits and pieces in my body part stash. And of course the Accurate Armour whoopie lights will go a long way toward making this tractor look less toylike.
Hi Klaus, don’t get too mixed up with the kit…since there is a lot of mixed West and East kit issued to the Ukrainian forces, same with weapons also. I have seen guys over there armed with HK, Czech, US weapons also mixed amongst AK type weapons. For me I think it is in the helmets. That’s why I try to keep the helmets to the MICH/ Kevlar type helmets. No one makes the Ukraine Kaska or Temp military helmet in 1/35 YET!!!
Looking good man.
Why is that figure pink color - is that resin or camera? Not familiar, think I maybe have one in the stash.
Thanks for the shout out but if you didn’t clue me in, I still be on the 1st pant leg w/ 00000 brush.
LOL
Know you know this one, but helpful hint to ppl. new to sponging digital color.
Don’t be afraid to go back and sponge w/ the base color if the pattern gets to dense visually.
Then re-add other colors.
It’s resin, but the camera gave it that weird color.
Maybe it’s too late, but TB Models make two different tractor drivers

H.P.
Thanks. Nothing is ever too late, but it’s unlikely, even with a heated cab, that a dude is wearing a wife beater at the time of year in Ukraine.
I do think I’ve finally found the solution. Mating the other guy’s torso to seated legs just wasn’t looking right. He was too gaunt anyway. This figure fits the driver’s seat perfectly, and his torso is even angled toward the left side - exactly what I needed. Now I imagine this “farmer” to be wearing something other than combat boots, so he might get a somewhat shortened version of the old skool Russian boots. Move his feet forward a bit, shave down that body armor and give him a hoodie - now we’re talking
That old dog sure is happy - the sun is still shining on his ass.
Round off the body armour to give him some more bulk, maybe even a bit of a pot belly.
Middle aged farmer who has worked hard and built muscles and hasn’t been starving lately …
Figure looks great in there like he was made for it.
Never understood why, w/ the plethora of figures available, there are so few in driving pose.
And even those barely fit in the vehicle they shipped with, in some weird contorted position.
My Tiger is on the way, but I ordered the wrong one. I should have gotten Meng’s M version with the hump on the hood. I saw somewhere where you can just order the hump as an aftermarket part though.
I think Live Resin
You are correct, sir! Ordered and on the way. There’s a specific hulk I want to model. Had to be an “M”.
Edit: As it turns out, this was the way to go anyway. The M version seems to be out of stock everywhere I usually shop.
I have the Xact kit of the Tigr but it has the early hood.
The bottom one is the one I’m doing. I have about four or five views of it, including later on after it’s been tagged. Maybe I’ll have a go at scratch building those smoke grenade launchers. Expand my horizons a bit…
And the rear smoke canisters. I’ll just keep it as the original I think.
