The Great Canadian Campaign!

Looks substantially neater than the ones I did for my Mustang. I’d say you’re on the right track.

Looks very nice, Mead. Nice handy work!

Colin that Firefly looks fantastic. Those Churchill tracks really give it a mean look. Keep grinding away on those tracks. Are those Panda Plastics tracks?

I think those belts look great. Better than I could do.

Thanks everyone for the feedback on the seatbelts. My only complaint was the wire I have is a tad thick at 26 gauge. Next set I do I’ll probably go buy 32 gauge.

I followed the same video you did @Canmedic, yours turned out excellent too

Thanks Matthew! Yes, they are Panda Plastics tracks, got the duckbills too.

I like building them in sections of ten. Helps to progress but keeps the madness to a minimum.

Gonna have to start doing this. My last two builds I’ve left tracks to the end it’s driving me mad lol. Cutting out track links for days isn’t fun

It is the first thing I do…cut off the links and clean them up. Half the chore done before I start the main kit.

Definitely nice to have the motivation of the kit waiting for you to finish the tracks. Having a built and painted model staring at you waiting for tracks makes it feel like a giant chore!

Great builds guys!

Finally!!!
Its been way too long but the markings are fully on the TUA! I had to strip the original UN I sprayed, repaint that side then use masks from Autoloader Decals. https://www.autoloaderdecals.ca/
Top notch stuff I love how they turned out! Actually all the markings on this model except for the serial were from @DennisatAutoloader .

Next up will be some some superficial scratches in the white and I can start the earth effects!

it is superb just a small detail the callsign 41B is not used in the anti-tank platoon
it should start with 7
ex = 71A
great job!

Aghh I should have done more research first. Thanks though!

I did some weathering with AK Oil Brushers, and added some chips.

The tracks can still use alot of work but Im happy with how the road wheels are rear ramp turned out.

I will most likely be adding a figure so I have opened the hatch.

Getting seriously close to throwing the icm spitfire in the bin. Was looking for a quick simple build but it is quickly turning into a nightmare. Some issues like small sink marks in the wings and fueslage I could overlook when they were the only issues to deal with.

I was able to set the dihedral correctly. Which is a common complaint on this kit. But I’ve had lots of annoying fit issues. The wing tips have a noticeable step that will need to be dealt with

And the upper cowl is WAAAAYYYY too small. I spent a couple hours grinding plastic out to thin it and make it snug down only to find out it’s too narrow. Now I did bulge the fueslage ever so slightly installing the oversized firewall which is my mistake but I have gaps and steps in the cowl fit

If anyone has any suggestions for fixing this I’m all ears. Otherwise this might find the bottom of a trash bin and I’ll build an eduard version later

Ouch… my only suggestion would be large amounts of Tamiya putty then sand and re-scribe everything.

I was thinking putty but it sounds like one big chore. Should have bought the eduard weekend edition for $10 more I guess. Not a good first experience with icm that’s for sure

Thinking I might pull the bombs from the icm kit and bin it, then build my mustang as one from 430 squadron RCAF

Mead, that is a tough one. The putty Will be a major job and I am not sure the shape will ever be right.

What about building with the hood on the ground? Maybe a diorama?

That could look cool and your nice work so far would not be wasted.

Keep that cockpit too if it’s salvageable. You did a great job on it. Maybe you’ll get lucky and it’ll fit the Eduard kit.
