Trumpeter 1/350 Heavy Cruiser HMS York (1941)

I didn’t realize it had been two months since I had updated this build, I have been plodding along. Some gaps in the Photographs.

The Foremast in place and the rigging started.

The mainmast too.

She has progressed, and is close to completion. I am just getting over Covid, don’t have much energy at the moment.

Will update on commissioning .

Hi Si!

Great to see you back after a bout of Covid.

I know what you mean about the tiredness after having it… Four weeks after recovery and still every day is a struggle…

Si,

Great looking build, glad to hear you are recovering. This is the first time I saw this build, don’t know why it hasn’t shown up before when I conduct a search. I have been wondering it you dropped off the forum. Glad to know you are still out there.

Hi Rus,

it is good to be back, glad to hear you are recovering too. I know I still have quite a haul before I am back to full strength.

Hope you are still on the mend.

Thanks for looking in Mate.

Cheers Si

Hi Mark,

Thank you for looking in, might have dropped off because of the gap in updates. about two months. I will get some more pics of the camera over the next couple of days.

Cheers, Si

Thanks mate :slightly_smiling_face:

Best advice I can give is to take each day as it comes and not over do it. Some days will be worse than others, but eventually it does get better :+1:

Looking gorgeous Si, I’m eagerly awaiting the finished result!

Marty

Thanks Russ,

Appreciate the advice, and I get it, that this is going to be a bit of a haul, also age isn’t on my side, but pushing on, getting a few things done.

Si - Amazing work - seeing your rigging is always an educational moment and causes me to think back on my former rigging attempts.

Look forward to seeing more.

David

Thanks David, appreciate your kind words. I will admit the language has been a bit salty getting some of the lines in place.

I have the Camera plugged in and will post an update very shortly. Not quite finished yet, trying to steam un for the final push.

Cheers

Si

Here you go, the rigging finally getting there.

An overview, a few minor bits and peices to add.

The top of the foremast, the insulators on the aerials are made from blobs of Cyano.

And finally the rear of the Bridge. shows the signal halyards, the backstays reaching the deck.

One more push of the weekend should see her commissioning.

Si, she’s looking fab! One of your best so far and the rigging is really good! :slightly_smiling_face:

(Must get back to Dauntless myself-she’s been languishing at the yard far too long :man_shrugging:)

Si, totally amazed how you do your rigging with wire, looks great! Have to agree with Russelle, on of your best works.

Mark

As has her sister….:unamused:

Not that the yards haven’t been busy. Just have 0 mojo for that build at the moment.

My attention has been diverted by a wing thing at the moment, Rory. What’re you currently working on? :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks Russ,

The rigging it was interesting with the tall raked pole masts, I am quite pleased with the outcome.

Good luck with Dauntless mate,

Thanks Mark,

Very kind of you to say so, I have always had liked the York, and felt she was a bit of a forgotten ship.

Hi Rory,

I understand the lack of mojo, this one has been nearly finished for a while. Hope yours comes back soon.
