So, finally, the 6 (almost 7) month saga of building a model of the Ukrainian BMP-1TS is over. This project was greatly inspired by such masters as Adam Wilder, Max Lemaire and Night Shift with their passion for detailing. While working on this model, I tried many things for the first time: adding scratchbuild parts, chipping fluid in general and creating a worn camouflage with it in particular, as well as weathering exclusively with oil paints. Overall, I am satisfied with the result, but, of course, there is always room for growth in terms of skills.
I always thought this was one of the coolest BMP variants- even more so in the Ukrainian digital camo. You have created a beautiful rendition of it here- your painting and weathering look highly realistic. The way you have chips out of the digital shapes is really well observed. The smaller elements like the personal kit, flag, cool box and the cat adds a superb individual touch to the whole thing.
Thank you. I’m glad you liked it. I put a lot of effort and time into it. Maybe it could have been done even better, but I’m not very experienced yet (this is my 4th armored vehicle model). So it turned out as it did)
@Serhii I have been enjoying following your build here and on instagram. It came out great, the little touches around the model really bring life to it. Слава Україні
Thanks a lot. Yeah, I like to add such small details so the model starts to tell a little story of sorts. Rest of the story will be tell on the vignette)
