Well, yet another attempt to finish my Djibouti BTR 60 with an AML 90 turret (the country of Djibouti is on the African continent right at the south of the Red Sea and where it meets the Gulf of Aden, and across from Yemen. I think I’ll try this campaign once again to get it finished. Count me in!
Aiming to finish this shelf queen ASAP. Dragged out far too long.
The lower chassis, the drive train together with the tracks, have been completed & painted. Then lost interest when came across the complexity of the turret, for no reason.
Okay, I have a few unfinished builds I want to get back to and finish this year. I plan to try and do a shelf queen in between new builds… famous last words maybe.
Anyway, as my official entry here, I give you the Italeri Carro Armato P40 1/35th scale. I started this somewhere around 2009 when I first acquired it as a new release. I decided it needed some ‘Gizmology’ in the engine compartment as you can see through the engine grills from various angles. I started using an old Tamiya Schutzenpanzer Marder engine as a base to work from, but was unable to find any references to show a basic layout for the real one (Radiator position, etc That plus the poorly fitting suspension components killed my enthusiasm for it.
