Unidentified Flying Object

Sorry haven’t had a chance to pick it up for ages. Was hoping for a bit of time on my week off this week, but I’ve been found other things to do around the house. Including installing a new cooker and finding out the hob I fitted in a few years ago has had an electrical fault and nearly burnt out the neutral wire. No idea when that happened, but now have to get a new one and fit it. Not a single second to get any modelling done.

I might have to admit defeat with this little project.

As I continue to learn on harsh terms, no one escapes real life. Definitely get that electrical stuff fixed.

I will let the campaign run for the full extension, just in case.

Thanks.

Real life really has found a way of getting in the way of a lot of projects the last year or so.

This one though is strange. I don’t remember hearing anything pop or noticing a burning smell, so I have no idea when it happened. Until I flipped it up to put the oven in and checked the terminal under the hob, I had no idea and had been using it. I’m not going to use it again just to be on the safe side. I dread to think what could have happened had I not checked. Doing a bit of googling, loose wires arcing seems to be the most likely cause. So it’s possible the screw could have loosened. I don’t know. I think a new hob and new wires are the way to go.

I am currently replacing a lot of old light switches and power power receptacle in my own house. It is clear that in many cases, the plastic deteriorated with age, causing a few failures. In my kitchen, a few of the end connectors for florescent lights were ready to fall apart. I will rewire that for LED bulbs.

Wow! I don’t envy you that task. If I had to do that, I would be calling in the professionals. Sounds like you caught that just in time before something more serious happened.

But yeah, electricity is not something to be taken lightly. I can manage simple connections and changing plug sockets, but anything major I’ll get more qualified people. Gas, that I won’t touch!

Thanks for the fun campaign. I already have kits for another one if it happens.

Thanks for the great campaign and the unique campaign ribbon. When I saw the campaign ribbon of the UFO over the road, I really wanted it, hence I entered.

Thanks for running the campaign. It was fun seeing the builds come together.

Disappointed in myself that I never finished that little F-19. A very frustrating little model, probably should’ve chosen something better in hindsight. I’ll post some images when I do get around to it again.

How would all of you feel about an Alien Technology campaign? Build a model of a piece of alien technology, an alien wearing some form of alien technology, an alien craft, a human using some form of alien technology, and/or or a human craft augmented with alien technology. The alien technology should be an obvious focal point of the subject.

I’m for it. I can reenter my 2025 Sci-Fi Campaign Japanese garage kit resin mech as “Alien technology.” I barely started that kit last year.
