Uploading/Posting photos doesn't work

Jim is working on storage issues and has blocked photos to be able to solve the issue without new photos dropping in all the time.

The forum will be in “Read Only” Mode for a while during which I will be moving all our content images over to a secondary drive so we don’t run out of space on our primary. This may take an hour or if I run into problems it could be down a lot longer. Will keep everyone updated if needed on KitMaker’s Facebook page. Thanks for your patience.

I am getting an error like “No space left on device @ rb_sysopen - /var/www/discourse/public/uploads/default/original/4X/a/d/8/ad849c486f076b1213ed47401c44873483dca90d.jpeg” when I try to upload an image; the upload runs to 100%, then throws the above error. I tried downsizing my image from the original 462x640 to 231x320 and got the same error.

It would appear we have run out of room on the media storage drive. I will need to upgrade to a larger drive space and do all the needed migration and configuration to resume normal uploads for the forum. It will probably be 24-48 hours to get this done.

And $26 more per month to boot assuming I double to drive size to 512GB.

Just tried to upload photos in my thread and got the same error message as Sean. So I let my photos fly waiting loops over the forum until you’ve solved the problem. No need for apologies, Jim. You have the work, we have the fun.

I’m not sure if you mean last night - that literally all are gone before “the event”. If so that’ll surely cause a wad in some panties. Robin can check the time stamp, but I posted this shortly before the post alerting Jim to the problem - the photo is still there:

Admittedly, my garage setup is a tad on the expensive side. If I wanted to do a pegboard style setup, I wouldn’t even use pegboard. I’d probably get a plain piece of particle board - the brown stuff. For rings, I’d use screw in eyelets. They’d need to backed with a small piece of wood. You can make hooks from coat hanger wire of whatever else you have around. Drill hole in the particle board only where you need them for a cleaner look, You can make paint racks and small shelves from particle b…

Lol… well there were a few issues but primarily I had a 512GB drive with a 256GB partition that was full. Now it should be fixed.

Steering gear for USS Iowa which I believe is the topic that Randy referred to

The lower rudder hub printed beautifully. The only thing that didn’t were most of the plugs that are created when you “drill” drainage holes in hollow objects. The plugs are tapered so they can be pressed in. With a little sanding, the holes disappear. All of them save one ended up stuck to the barrier film, and yes, I had to empty the vat and remove any stuck resin. I will fill the holes with Bondic. Takes a little longer, but with good results.
