Group Build Description: From time to time we all yearn for a “palette cleanser”, a simple build. So, here it is. The kit must be at least 25 years old, so we eliminate included PE, resin, 3D or metal barrels. Just a styrene kit. No aftermarket, no scratchbuilding. This is supposed to be fun.
Event Details: (Remember to click “Going” if you want to join the build!)
Completion Award: I will ask Doug @Damraska to come up with a nifty badge for it.
A Note about Awards: The following text is a reminder that in order for people participating and finishing their projects to receive a badge on their forum profile, they will need to provide their account username to the group build leader by the completion date of the build. The leader will then provide this list to the site admin who will bulk award the badges to those users who have finished the group build. If you don’t provide your username or finish the project on the timetable the leader has setup you will not be able to receive an award.
Kit decals, unless they shatter. Then replacements can be used. Stretched sprue is good. If you want to make seatbelts out of the instruction sheet, go for it.
Or maybe just define/re-title it as Last Century OOB builds…noting for the mathematically challenged that the year 2000 was the last year of the previous century.
This is something I might actually complete.I have a Matchbox Comet tank , a Airfix Stug, several ME 262’s and ( I think) its a Monogram Douglas Invader some (hopefully ‘pigs ears into a silk purse’ Smer 1/48 WW1 fighter planes for a start, plus a shed load of 25% finished 1/35 armour…I’m in, Thanks.
I want to confirm this one is fine. The original sprues are from 1988, but extra parts were added to the version I have from 2002 (the extra part is simply the tarp covering the box).
This is the only way to work. I’ve become where the joy of just finishing something. Between the wifes disorder and my depressed state it is sometimes it is just a challenge to work. Hell I have four inprogress.
Easy: leave the canopy loose so you can add it after the GB is over. Or when the GB is complete and it doesn’t have to remain OOB convert it to a mini-Technical with some oversize weaponry in the back for navigating the back streets of Japanese cities hunting marauding kaiju…
Cheers,
