What are you reading

I might have to see if I can find that. I have to confess it’s one I’ve passed over because of the film. I’m pretty sure my local library has a lot of his books, so will check it out.

Finished Winter Hawk earlier in the week. I enjoyed the first half more than the last. The ending felt rushed I thought and left some unresolved problems, especially the fates of some key characters.

So, I’ve picked up James Holland’s ‘Fortress Malta’. It’s an interesting read and good starting point for anyone looking into the Malta campaign in WW2.

And a little light reading later in the evening. My other little hobby. Stories and scathing but humourous reviews of some of the worst games for the 8 and 16-bit home computer era.

Interesting! Being Dutch I love reading about this. I’m currently reading this book on the Polish 1st AD, which was part of that army. I’ll put those books on my list!

Looks interesting.
Jeremy Clarkson told the story of Major Robert Cain in the upper right a few years back in a documentary.
Don’t know if you’ve seen it already, but here’s the link.

@phantom_phanatic it rings a bell but it doesn’t do any harm to watch it again and remind myself of the actions of these brave men.

i found another little gem on youtube you might be interested im but i will start a new thread for it.

Cool. Thanks I’ll have a look at those. Always good to add something new to the references.

Clarkson did a couple of other ones about Convoy PQ17 and Operation Chariot.

A very engaging read. I particularly enjoyed Mason “teaching” the reader how to fly a helicopter in the first half of the book. It greatly enhances the second half of the book.
