Thanks John. Hope that cast comes off soon. I feel your pain. I couldn’t model for two months after my car accident. @petbat Brilliant response!
I ordered a set of PE grille for my Carro Veloce radiator compartment to a modelling buddy of mine, and need to install it, before I paint the exterior:
This means the Carro Veloce goes “on hold”
So I cleaned the Border Model’s Pz.IV Ausf.H Early/Mid kit from the dust and glued some plastic today:
It will turn into a mid-May 1943 Ni-Werke production Bulgarian “Maybach”(Fgst. 84280/reg. No B 60258).
Cheers,
Angel
Which kit is this?
It’s the Tamiya Jagdpanzer IV L70 (A). Today I got the casemate glued on, added a lot of small details, and glued the gun barrel -
And it can do wheelies !
Well, I did do some work on air tanks, and brake pots, but, this was more interesting:
This is a #1 knife handle, that held a #11 blade. I was cutting through some styrene and the collet and sleeve popped off with the blade sill in place! The collet snapped clean off the handle. While I’ve broken a few tools over the years, this type of failure is new to me. Too bad of course, this tool cut a lot of material for many many projects! So long old friend -
Cheers
Nick
It’s always sad if a Long used tool need to go … I know that issue from the old graphic pens , but happened not often .
Get well soon Mate, hope all is going well.
Watto…
Had that happen to me, it sucks, especially if a critical cut, on an item
Can you repurpose its parts in one of your dioramas? Feels like a fitting end for an old friend.
Nick I had similar happen to me, my original 55 year old #1 handle sleeve split. I felt a deep sense of loss.
Lettering done thanks to custom masks made by my brother in law. Caterpillar for radiator top , D9R for fuel, tank sides and EARTHWORK for hood sides . Homage to my late brother in law’s
company .
So i changed out the fender torsion bars with something abit more size proportional. And finally got the tow cable mounted. though I still need to add another tie down. So now I can go back to the turret and begin the process of completing it.
I’m really diggin’ this build. Everything about it looks right on.
I decided that 7/32 (.2187”) was a little undersized for my bridge weight plate….
I don’t have a .2571 hole punch so I figured 1/4 or .250” would be about right.
Fourth attempt (.250) left, third attempt (from previous post) right.
Now the Archer bridge plate numbers fit, and I even got the “C” mostly on there….

Started work on a base for the TOP SECRET Haunebu IIb Flying Saucer Project.
Joined-together 6+ Evergreen Sheets and penciled-in a 6° off-angled concrete grid layout. Next up will be to scribe V-joints into the surface.
