What did you do in your modeling workshop today?

The picture foe a Better idea. If glued i would think they would be good.

Several decals started to disintegrate. These two being the worst.

Touched up w/X20A & Tamiya rubber black paint.

Decided to scrap the ground work, slap this on a base with emblems and call it done.

The Panther D won’t sit level on this base, however the model sits level and square on a glass desk top.

Decided to do ground work after all.

The base proved very warped so clamped trim strips in place. Mig’s Spring Steppe for the groundwork mat.

Trimmed for three corners.

Sprayed turf with home brew ballast freeze, 7mm & 12mm static grass applied with static grass applicator.

Mocked up.

Looking good! You know I liked the decal chips, gave it a plausible worn look.

A little home improvement for the Jake. :hocho:…

Thinned-down the fuselage cockpit areas.

Also added fuselage ribbing.

Finished this 22 year old, perennial Shelf Queen today.

Panther 445 of Panzergrenadier Division Gross Deutschland as I imagined it in approximately August 1943.

My first Panther completion since 1993.

I applied the last color and removed a section of the masking tape to see what the final result looked like…I will remove the rest tomorrow

I have to say, your washes and details highlights are first rate.
The wheels really grab my attention.
From there, begin scanning up and it is just an excellent finish.

@flatfour Watto, thank you!

Same Floquil Military Panzer Dark Yellow /Dunkelgelb paint, Pactra Acrylic Flat & same Paasche airbrush on the 1993-4 Tamiya Panther G. I’m more comfortable with washes & drybrushing now than back then.

@Barney, Steve, thank you! Yes, it actually feels like a weight lifted. This one bothered me sitting on the shelf year after year. The old shelf queens always do.

@Petro Marc, thank you! I really appreciate that as wheels had an issue. I’d used a wrong sized Quick Wheel template and didn’t realize it until seeing some silver tires! Those had to be touched up.
