What did you do in your modeling workshop today?

Well, I found some time to take some pictures, so this is what I’ve been working on lately.

A German Pilot figure that came with my Border Models Bf-109:

I’ve yet to finish him, but more will be posted later.

A Chevy CWT 15 from Italeri with some Eduard photoetch:

And finally, the Takom Tiger 1 Mid with Otto Carius:

Hope y’all like it!

That figure is looking good.

I have one track completed. I did some looking and word has it that 96 links is what tigers had per side.
In the pic, the run is 96 links and it is longer then the rubber Dragon tracks.
I ended up with 95.
Now for the next run.

Black fingersand a lot of sanding and filing.
If all goes well, I consider some resin Def Models wheels

Now that is looking really nice (I have the same kit - as yet, unbuilt).

Something feels a little bit wrong with those wheels, I can’t really put my finger on it but something doesn’t feel quite right …

If you’re referring to the hubs, he hasn’t fitted them yet. They will be the same as on their Saladin model I’m sure:

which to me, are perfectly acceptable(!)

Did some more work on the stowage for my AAV7A1

I get the impression that the sidewalls on those white metal wheels are too flat?

vs

These are more rounded

Maybe the shiny white metal is confusing my eyes …

Edit: Found an ‘action’ photo

Quite possibly; it may well depend on the inflation, and the vehicle’s combat load - or lack thereof I imagine.

I think perhaps we should remember that both the Saracen and the Saladin models by Firing Line, and hitherto, Dartmoor Models, are of some vintage.

I note that the modeller is considering getting a more up to date replacement wheel.

Not trying to be funny, but i think i sniffed too much glue today. Maybe i was too close, i dunno.
I’ve never had it bother me before, but damn, i have had enough for today.
I got 40 more tracks links done.
Only 55 more to do.
Yes it is monotonous, but after assembling the first run and checking it out on the hull, it’s worth it.
This will be my best set of assembled tracks yet. (Crosses fingers)
I could never get glue type single links this straight.

Back to this Dragon #6392 15 cm Artillery piece for a change of pace.

Felt this old base would be OK w/ground work for the artillery piece…

…fiddling with the Value Gear…

…realized a) it’s too cramped with sand bags and b) I have no idea what I’m doing :upside_down_face:

Time for a bigger, deeper base.

I have been adding styrene to the sci-fi vehicle:

For such a small model, this thing is eating up a lot of material! But, it’s shaping up

By poplar demand, some small wings were added up front, and I think they look the part. I wasn’t happy with the rear of the fuselage, so worked to tidy it up -

Cheers

A most terrifying dry-fit session! 🫨 :grimacing:

At first Jake was a tail-sitter, so I added weight to the float noses. But at this stage (on his perch) Jake became a nose-sitter — had to add weight back to the tail.

When all screwed and glued, the launch cradle will be cranked way back to the rear of the catapult per the reference image. Until then, I’ll need to. keep the center of gravity as-is.

Worked on my Bf110 after ages. Got the camo and Luftmottle done. I had a bit of paint lifting when I removed the masking tape. Will touch it up once I get back from my flight.
