Wash on the hull complete. Turret maybe tonight if not then tomorrow. Thanks for looking.
That is looking good.
I need to get back to mine.
I downloaded some STL files for printing. Pretty cheap, but I had a similar problem. The great poses are all wearing jackets, and I’m doing a dio July in Sicily, so no jackets. I messed with changing a pose (3D learning to mangle files, though I could have done it physically with glue), but I can’t take a jacket off… Having trouble figure painting. Lots of good tutes, but I didn’t even expect a problem. I shudder to count how many years ago I painted figures…
Opened up my work laptop and sat in teacher meetings all day. School is almost upon us which means teaching by day, modeling by night.
I got to mount the Takom Flammpanzer 38(t) on its base, so it is effectively done for now.
I’ll add some more grass to blend the tracks in a bit better. Right now I’m celebrating the fact I drilled in the mounting hole AFTER completing the kit with a bit long enough to go through the kit and into my palm without incident.
Slow and steady wins that race.
You need a, find wally degree, for some of the parts, not marked in the booklet, or back to front, same numbers for different positioned items
Today was frustrating. I got the grille, front side/parking lights painted and in place. Then, about to top coat and set the air filter in place my airbrush blocked Again.
I thought this AK 3rd gen was supposed to be the latest thing in paint flow. I’ve been thinning it with Vallejo flow improver, but read today that distilled water also works fine.
Any opinions on the best ways to avoid this clogging? Still using the Patriot a/b at 20psi with a PRV. Paint thinned by 30%.
This is great. Love the streaking and color combinations.
Your Leo is coming along nicely, Frank! One just can’t have enough Leos … So far I have 6 in my arsenal
Despite the warm weather here in Southwest Germany I did some “japanese mottling” today on my Eduard Zero. This is Vallejo 71322 IJN Black Green, thinned with 70% Sidolin and sprayed with a 0,35 mm needle at ~ 0,2/0,3 bar. The gauge of my compy doesn’t show that low … … but worked fine with it. It’s the first time that I’ve tried this kind of mottling and I’m quite happy with the result. It’s sprayed over IJN Medium Grey (Vallejo 71312).
Got the spare wheel and mechanism and wheel-ramp in place. Positioned the mirror brackets.
Time was taken up with Formula One and yardwork this morning so the hobby had to take a back seat.
I gave these a run out and can honestly say I’m very impressed indeed. They are obviously not intended to be used to cover really large areas but, for cockpit details, AFV detailing etc they are very impressive in use. Simply remove the cap and use. After use, put the cap back on and select the next colour.
I bit the bullet and went for the whole set but, the individual sets will come in handy for anyone completing a specific project.
All in all, a steady afternoons session at the bench.
Watto.
I quite like the blue (faded green?), yes green monotone gets monotonous after a while.

That turret is massive! What a tank . . . . model is looking good, I’ve got to try one of these one day.

A few more steps forward today. Fitted the box and gouged a few drag marks on the floor, removed the rear bumpers (they dont seem to feature on the M817, as they dont allow the box to tip fully). Future tomorrow and then wipers, pinwash and some weathering.
Lookin good.
Ok I was busy over the last couple of days getting stuff built, primed and base coated.
All 1/72
Famo chassis and running gear is base coated panzer grey, it’ll be a 1943 build with the body in dark yellow, the Sd.Ah.116 in Panzer grey and the Stug IIIG in dark yellow.
Little Airfix Jeep, the CIM-10A Bomarc is huge compared to the rest, and finally an old Keil Kraft Merc Actros, interior is not installed so it can be painted before closing up with trailer and 40’ container.
Nothing. Stuck in Athens, GA for my school’s staff professional development seminar before classes begin on 8/1.
If you’ve attended bog standard business conventions you know the fun I’m having. I brought a kit to start de-spruing and prepping the parts for assembly but haven’t had a chance to touch it.
Funny part is we are using an app to interact with everything and there is a community page where we can post stuff like where to meet for lunch, meeting after the daily seminars, what did you do over summer break, etc. I asked if there were any other modelers on staff and got a response that a woman bought her dad a Star Trek kit. No one else posted they built models.
BUT several women all replied saying how neat and cool they were (I posted pics of what I finished over summer) . I found that interesting as most of the pics were of WWII German armor which normally isn’t a favorite subject for 20-something liberal white women.
