What did you do in your modeling workshop today?

Interesting, the ones I attend have an app (everyone does these days) for the program and connecting with someone but it’s one on one (usually the vendors) not a community page where folks can post random items.

Never brought any models with me (when driving) as we are telling lies (shop talk) and drinking at a bar or hotel till the late at night.

As teachers they discourage us from going out drinking just in case someone gets drunk and is seen in one of our school shirts, thus embarrassing us.

People still do. I however had to give that up so it doesn’t really affect me.

Most change out of the monkey suit and identifying uniforms as soon as the classes are over to avoid it. My consumption is almost nil these days but I join for the chit chat.

The hardest thing I drink these days (the last 22 years) is Diet Coke (I’m Type 2 diabetic) but I go to bars with my friends all the time. I get to drink for free and they get a designated driver.

Hobby time on the road today with a visit to the Indiana Military Museum

Lot more cool tanks & AFV’s on display than I expected for a small museum. It’s grown significantly since my last visit.

Went to see the M4A9 Sherman & T-34-85…

The T-34-85 shown above given by General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev is a runner. Museum staff said when the T-34-85 arrived it was in like brand new condition fully overhauled and functional.

The M4A1E8 Sherman is a runner.

My biggest surprise finding a rare Flak 43 3.7 cm on display.

And a Type 97 that was captured by US Marines.

Yesterday I spent my bench time at the range with my wife. It was the perfect day for it - temp in the low 80’s, low humidity, sunshine. First we shot pistol. It was her first time with her new Glock .380. She got the hang of it pretty fast and turns out to be a good shot. I shot my Springfield Armory XD6 9mm. Went through about 200 rounds on each pistol.
Then I went rifle and shot my AR-15. I built it myself from scratch. Put 180 rounds through it. Had a terrific time. At one point I was firing so fast the RSO came over to make sure I didn’t have auto or a bump-stock. Loads of fun. We were there 5 hours and then went out to a lovely dinner.

I also learned my lesson the hard way trying to reload those .380 mags and bought speed loaders for all the mags.

Finally got the wash on the turret. Next will be the pin wash. Still need to add the spare track links and ammo cans for the MG. Might get it finished in time for the AMPS meeting Saturday but I doubt it. Depends on how quickly the oils dry. Thanks for looking.

Might need to rethink our kit smuggling strategy.

Don’t be afraid, Matt!

SWMBO took shooting sport lessons in her teen years and ever she sees a gun I see those flickering flames in her eyes:

Yet-I am still alive

The possession and use is not the problem, it’s the knowledge along with us attempting to get around her edict when the above execution might be just that for one or both of us. :upside_down_face:

Well yesterday was Thursday, so my bench time was taken up by 8 hours of Grandson sitting. But once again I finally won, I wore the little bastards out! Papa’s Boot Camp claims victory! I should have brought a kit to work on - but the shoe is usually on the other foot…

Tried some heavier prop weathering for a desert Mustang. Basecoat of silver lacquer, Vallejo acrylics, and then weathering with a toothpick and ballpoint pen.
