What did you do in your modeling workshop today?

Worked on my 110. Finished oil weathering / fading on the left wing before I got called in to work. Going on a 4 day trip so hope to finish it over the next weekend :crossed_fingers:t2:

Finished the camo on the MEP today. Question for anyone: tiedown points are lacking in the dump box, so I need to use something other than the method shown on the web (tiedowns using chains on a flatbed deck).

Can I use straps tied diagonally acoss the MEP, like the 600 gallon pods on the TPU setup, or is there a stipulated (regs) method?

Amazing build and I wish I had some help for your question, but I have my own question for you. Where did u get the generator kit?

I would just put a horizontal strap around the generator and the vertical part of the cab guard. The generator is pretty heavy and doesn’t tend to move much. The single strap would hold it in place from flopping around.

Ready to start painting the IBG Pz.Kpfw II Ausf. b:

Also started a kit I bought eight years ago. I know this because when I went to search for some builds of the kit I clicked the link to one on LargeScalePlanes and saw my post from April 2016 where I told the OP I just received mine in the mail.

I had apparently started it some time ago as one of the cockpit panels was built but nothing else had been de-sprued yet. I’m going to be doing Louis Delfino’s ‘double zero’ for no other reason than the double zero. They are pretty much all the same.

Thanks Gino, I’ve got some straps left over from the TPU build, so that should work out great. For info, would they have placed a piece of lumber between the dump box front wall and the genset’s skid?

Great help and you’re always there to support a modeller.

Good job!

Probably not if it is just a unit using it for a short haul.

Thanks for the compliment! Shapeways. I forget the name of the maker, but if Shapeways’ site is still up you should find it there.

Very nice Tigercat, John! It’s in Glossy Sea Blue? And I see you’ve put a drum under the rear like on the original plane …
I’ve built mine (Italeri rebox) several years ago in Black with a white nose and put a lot of weight in the front, so I don’t need a drum

One small step forward today. 2.75 lengths of strapping to secure the MEP against the cab guard.

Started cleaning up the cable spool pieces, more tomorrow.

Nice. Looking great.

Thanks Gino, if I had my druthers I would base coat the MEP under the various panels in the appropriate color, then scribe the info tags on through the top coat to match the images I’ve been working to.

Generally though, I’m happy with the way it’s going.

I appreciate your comments.

I’ve been looking for either the whole set or a couple of the smaller sets - armor related. They look like they’ll work really nice!

Great looking build. Ya I had read horror stories of adding weight and I figured they propped up the real bird so not inaccurate. Really nice little kit. May do another. I have the Lonestar fire bomber conversion and Draw decals so we’ll see. Its a beautiful airplane - I just couldn’t put that giant blister of tank on her
