What did you do in your modeling workshop today?

Well said.

I heard a good line on some TV drama a few years ago. Paraphrasing, but “It should be called just PTS. It’s not a DISorder.” So true. Depression and trauma (and associated stuff) is normal. Why would society expect someone to go through high pressure, or trauma and the like and NOT have trouble?

Keep working at it, guys, and know that you are not alone.

I’am not a doctor, nor play one on tv, the medical term: A mental health disorder can be described as any disturbance of emotional equilibrium, as manifested in maladaptive behaviour and impaired functioning, caused by genetic, physical, chemical, biologic, psychologic, or social and cultural factors. Term: Mental Health Disorder / Mental Disorder | MCHP Concept Dictionary and Glossary for Population-Based Research | Max Rady College of Medicine | University of Manitoba

IMO it becomes a disorder when it negatively affects your everyday life in almost every facet, which it certainly did, and still does on occasions. As well TBI’s (Traumatic Brain Injury) is often associated in correlation with PTSD. The only thing that keeps me on an even plane is; therapy and medications.

To me PTS would be what is classed in the CAF (Canadian Armed Forces) as an OSI (Occupational Stress Injury). Which is more encompassing in mental health issues. Operational stress injury - Wikipedia

Of course I have! And that’s not the only one. Been a fan of the band since their early days. First time I’ve seen Michael Sadler and the guys live was in Hamburg 1983. Last time was 2015 in my hometown. Have all their CDs and am still a big fan of the band. Not sure if they are still touring around Europe. They have grown older now, just like me …

Thank you!

Started cutting plastic on this today. It was a test day so I could sit and snip while monitoring my students’ on cam and through our security apps but they couldn’t see what was on my desk. I had 45 minutes of uninterrupted time during each of our three sessions scheduled today.

I also threw together a Bandai 1/72 TIE Interceptor Wednesday night which I will post a pic of once I do a little detail painting on it.

Built some more of the M920’s frame and got some paint on. Built the o/s front fender and I need to get a second coat on the fuel tank before it goes on tomorrow, along with more work on the frame.

I finally managed to paint the Corsair, the upper fuselage at least. Short of the canopy section, still working on that part. I plan on painting the lower fuselage light gray, mounting the fuel tanks landing gear etc so it’s almost finished

I can’t recall if you already said but are these custom pieces made by you or is there someone online making this stuff? I wouldn’t think there would be enough of the toy Eagles left to support an aftermarket.

Some of these pieces I’ve printed, and some are aftermarket stuff. There does seem to be a dedicated group of enthusiast I had no idea existed when I decided to refurbish one.

The M920 is looking good. I think you may have the forward mud guards on upside down/reversed though. The flat, angled part should be up.

Nicely done!

Thanks Gino, it was one of those “ the PE is on, the paint is good, I’ll just get these on before lunch” moments. Good Eye!

ETA Good news, they both came off the frame easily, so they’ll be put back correctly tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone else for your comments.

On the road, decided to start a new project, a Tamiya M4 Sherman. My first Sherman build ever.

Edit: 9-9-2024

Grinding forward…

…it’s an interesting build, different from my typical German WW2 Panzer III or IV and USSR T-34 or KV build.

Feels confusing and fresh.
