What did you do in your modeling workshop today?

Similar to my situation. One room in the basement, stash is kept in the (large) furnace room. Basement kitchen houses a parts cleaner and a handy washstand. My wife uses three different room upstairs for her hobby, which is pattern-making and design.

We’re very happy with our setup.

Hi Stephen,
I used the Vallejo decal set on the P51 Mustang and they did a nice job on fixing and settling the decals down. There was no reaction with the paint work, I had noticed with the micro set that the acrylic paint would soften somewhat if I went over it.

I’d like to see how those look , that’s one reason I haven’t already gotten the set from MMK, they need to be weighted for more realism (at least it seems that way to me) . . . maybe we could work out a deal if you decide to cast another batch

Interesting. I might call on you for a couple in the future.

Good information, thanks.

I tend to agree with you on that one Cajun. They are pretty much circular in profile and have zero “sag”.

My L1500 wrecker is very close to the finish line now! :slightly_smiling_face: It needs only the final clear coat. My first model show this year is on the 22./23. March, so finished right in time …

These are the full 500 gallon blivets after priming:

Since they are hollow cast, to show them partially empty you just heat them up with a hair dryer and press. No two will be the same:

I’m slowly filling the void in Trumpeters MAZ-537G engine compartment:

MiniArt’s “T-34 Engine V-2-34 & Transmission Set” came to the rescue, along with some scratchbuilding(radiator bodies and air bottles).

Not much will be visible in the end, but I’ll know it’s there:

Cheers,
Angel

In a turn of events I may be able to swing in my favor, my wife is fearing the flight of our youngest and the resulting emptiness due to the fact my work area is downstairs on the far side of the house so she feels isolated. I am going to finagle getting that room for basic stuff like cutting and cleaning parts and final photography under the guise of me now being mere feet away on the same floor as long as I keep it clean for guests as a spare bedroom.

That means I’ll have three rooms!!!

In Russian modeling, this is called “souslik” (gopher). And doing this is called feeding the suslik. The more you do that can’t be seen, the fatter the gopher.

It started after a 2000 film about the Russian army - a fantastic comedy of situations. There, the character looks at a field

and says the phrase “Do you see the gopher? - No. - And I don’t see it. But it’s there!”
The meaning of which is that we don’t see it, but it’s there.

Thanks Yuri!

My gopher is quite fat.

I’ve watched this movie(DMB) many times.
It gave birth to a lot of memes(Бахнем?),

Cheers,
Angel
