I’m stuck waiting for paint for a project, so, decided to start another in the meantime. I’ve started work on a 1/32 scale Kenworth C-500, 8x8, tandem tandem, bed truck. In other words, a really big, off highway bed/winch truck. I include a few prototype pics, and what I’ve been working on:
What a majestic beauty! The prototype is in the upper left, the Kenworth C-500, while a similar truck, the Western Star version, in the lower left. For scale, the guy is 1/35, so you can see this will not be a small build. In the upper right, you can see the basic idea for the front wheels and tires. These are 1/32 scale farm tractor tires. I have some extra RC u joints from an old build that I figured I could use and adapt into steering knuckles. The wheels will be posable when done.
To do this I over drilled the inside of the wheel to accept the new hub. But, the U joints are indeed universal, so I figured out a way to adapt them to only allow motion back and forth, and not up and down also:
If you look at the central picture, you can see a close up of the U joint, and if you look carefully you can see a bit of silver/alu tube, pressed against the U joint. I made up a shaft that fit into the overall part, and pressed if firmly against the U joint, which unlike an actual u joint, is not “ + “ shaped, it’s a solid cube. While the U joints include threaded set pins, these are glued in place. So, by blocking one side, it limits movement to one, and not two directions.
After fooling around with this for some time, I made up four of these, and adapted them to fit the front two axles from a 1/35 HEMTT. I wish I could say simple as that! 
It took a while to figure this out 
and then do. In the upper left you can see the 1/32 C-500 hood set on the tires/axles.
Unhappily for me, I won’t be able to use too many more of the HEMTT parts, and will eventually make up my own frame rails, leaf springs for the front, and a walking beam for the back. So, this has a long way to go!

I’v been slowly making progress on my Tiger I. Well, sort of. It was more like two steps forward, 2 steps back.
I was planning on doing a gloss coat on it, but then there were some fixes that needed to be addressed. I had the rear fenders mounted in correctly, an each side needed a fix anyways.
Then of course, i had to fix anything that fell off.
I was able to spray the gloss coat on and get the decals on. I trashed one of the 1314 decals, totally by accident, with of course, a reckless finger.
At times i am frustrated with this kit, but it just looks awesome to me.
Looking forward to getting this beast weathered up.
I also began washing the sprues for the Miniart Sdkfz234/4 interior kit.
Man, i knew it was a lot of sprues, but damn, there’s alot of small, thin parts.
What was i thinking!?

Pretty good considering I taught all day Wednesday to Friday; watched a 3 1/2 hour movie (Sybil with Sally Field) with my wife, oldest daughter, and her boyfriend Saturday; and had to drive into Atlanta so my wife and younger daughter could return Christmas clothing that didn’t fit.

Going on four years in progress for this one. Finally masked, sacrificial bay doors tacked with PVA (Tamiya tape holding them to dry), then time for primer!
Excellent kit, but building it with everything open is quite tedious.

Lately, I’ve been playing around with Trumpeter’s S-75 Dvina launcher, modifying it to S-75M Volchov one.
Turning SM-63 into SM-90 is not an easy task, but I did my best:
Next I will modify the 11DU SAM to 5Ya23.
The launcher will be accompanied by a ZIL 131 based TEL showing the moment of loading the SAM on the launcher:
It is a group project with the aim to build a diorama for a buddy, who spent his entire service with the Air Defense Forces and went into retirement recently.
I am responsible for the Launcher, SAM and the TEL trailer, a modelling buddy is building the ZIL-131V, another buddy will build the terrain and yet another-some figures.

Had a build day at the American Heritage Museum Saturday. Brought along my traveling kit, the Magic Factory M10 Booker. Even though this vehicle was canceled (I’m still mad about that) I’m determined to finish it in the presentation M10 tank destroyer markings. I finally finished the build stage. Here she is, minus wheels and tracks, ready for paint. I have excellent 3D printed tracks for it. Not doing Magic Factory’s 9 parts per link tracks, sorry (not sorry)!

I got the set from our very own Jacque Duquet @JacquesD. He has an EBay store where he sells all kinds of stuff. Here’s the listing for the M-10 tracks:
Go dig that kit out! It’s an awesome build with no problems at all. It’s a fun kit and it fit together with no putty anywhere. Great build.

I’ve got to find some AM decals for mine so I can do XZ367 ‘Debbie’ - ‘White Rose’ from the Gulf war as I have it wing fence sitting in my room. Although happy to do it in its markings from any time of its service.
