I tried doing some canopy masking and painting the interior color on my Tamiya P-47 Razorback. I used a set of Montex masks made specifically for this kit and was sadly disappointed. The top masks on the curved part of the canopy didn’t stay down and the paint got onto the “glass”. So I had to remove paint and once everything was dry start remarking with good ol Tamiya tape. Also masked the wheelwells and such. Hopefully I can get some primer on it tomorrow.

I must be suffering from concussion because I decided to paint the national markings and walkways

Have not tried the Miniart kit yet, but the Tamiya T’bolt is the best you can get for your money. Have built a few over the years.

Concerning the Montex masks, I can recommend the Eduard masks. They work almost perfect on all models. As an alternative you can use Tamiya Tape and cut the mask directly on the clear parts as I did on my SAAB J 21 lately.

I’ve been working on the figures for ages and think I’m about there, they seem a bit shiny so I my give them a Matt coat but for now I’m putting them on the “as good as done” shelf.

Apologies for the awful photography…..

Started detail painting on the Achzarit…

And as that Tiran has been out in the open for such a long time that it got completely rusted all over, I think it would also get covered in a lot of dust…

Finally got all the bogies done for my RFM M4A3 76 VVSS kit. What a PITA they were. Also got the big chunk of the hull assembled, now to mount the bogies and start adding the detail bits.

You can see in this photo that the bogies springs actually work. Very cool once completed, not so cool putting them together! 16 parts per bogie.

Well actually got some time at the bench today and just needed a easy fun build so out came two Warhammer ‘Tau’ battle suits, the tail one and the one at the back that is only half done.

These will be done in an orange-yellow paint scheme so had to work out the best primer and found a yellow spray primer by a company called Army Painter. Arms/weapons are in the booth still.

Masking, and more masking, and then some more masking. I have even more respect for folks who do the full “original” scheme now. The late RAM is plenty of masking for my taste.

Wait’ll you get to the tracks! I’m working on a set of their T48s (sold separately) and have to take it one 6-link stretch per session to preserve my remaining sanity…

I took a look at the tracks and bought a set of Masterclub T48 tracks for it. Very simple assembly, including a jig.

Army Painter paints are very good. I use their spray can admin grey and black to prime my WH40 K projects. have fun and keep showing your work.
