Diorama base testing for a future project. I will build a Terminator dio.
For this dio, I tested a lot of times the base and changed 4 times the house ruins.
Now I have poured the floors with plaster. Now I like it. In the plaster I put wire mesh.

Wow - love those 2 Frank. Fox Hopp are pretty good in my (limited) use of their products, but that Vigilant conversion looks the business. I have the old Firing Line version but am now thinking that it’ll stay in the box!

The overall outer part of model is really very good, but the turret is unable to be opened up, walls to thick and no inner hatch details, rear turret bottom plate, and drop seat plate all fixed together,
that’s my only gripe.

Finishing off the Buck Rogers Thunder Fighter.
Its the first model I’ve FDM printed, I still have a learning curve to go. But printed my own decals for it (one side isnt finished as I ran out of ink) and had a go at rust effects for the stand. I still have to finish the chipped paint on that and put the glass in the cockpit.
Quite pleased with it since the original kit is nigh on impossible to get.

I got my base color on my Neubaufahrzeug
And on my Steyr 1500A
And on the suspension/frame of the Henschel 33D
As well as smaller parts for the above plus my Beetle and Karmann-Ghia builds
And I vacuumed the entire main floor of the house while my wife washed the dog, and wrote up notices for my final IEP meetings for the school year. Got a lot done, plus I got to listen to the Stranglers, Gary Numan, Carcass, Kreator, Love and Rockets, the Misfits and The Police while painting.

With the engine in pretty good shape, and front part of the chassis stable and with “fixed/required” parts installed, on to the suspension I have gone:
This jig has proven to be pretty useful. As this truck has twin front axles, in this application, it has two sets of leaf springs (rather than a walking beam) and all four wheels are steerable/posable, so not easy to get the leaf spring packs square, horizontally, or vertically. To resolve this, I used a couple of pieces of basswood that I could set between the axle/spring bolts (not U-bolts btw). This allowed me to get all four ends of each pair of leaf springs aligned correctly, glued, and weighted.
I laid out, built, and installed the suspension in place, while set in the jig. The tires/axles/leaf springs wedged in place, and the chassis blocked in place (I added tabs to keep it from moving around). This worked out reasonably well as a model, and really well as a process - and by that I mean, no, it’s not perfect - but it worked, which while obvious enough, had me curious.
So, making progress. It turns out, as this vehicle has two steering axles, steering will be a bit complicated - as from my reference pics, it appears to have four steering boxes/gears drag links, 4 pitman arms, linkages etc. Once I get those in place, I’ll go back to detailing the leaf spring hangers and so on -
