What did you do in your modeling workshop today?

That’s not too bad at all; good build and a nice simple setting.

I’ve added more styrene to the wrecker, building the left rear deck, and I think, finishing up the back side:

The upside of having a few pictures of the prototype is obvious enough, the downside is by having them, if you keep looking, you’re bound to find more things to add…never ending on this build.

Such as, the complicated mirror assembly. The kit comes with a nice few parts to make one up, but of course, in the pictures you can see that this version includes a different central spine, an extra mirror, and more framing. Along the lines of ‘discovery’, the winches:

Nothing is as straight forward as it seems!

@Denimo, thanks! As I’ve seen your great truck builds, I wonder…when will you jump into the realm of scratch work making strange rigs too??? it’s an affliction! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: Pretty soon you’ll begin to notice something interesting and decide to go for it!

Wow! AI rulz. These box art clips are just as I imagined. Excellent and very entertaining!

My only negative comment is perhaps the lack of firearms detail as in working the bolt on the K98 to fire. Perhaps not flagging your battle buddies? I only comment to point out how our little bubble of modeling seems to lack much experience with things that go bang. Hoping Rob Skipper and the like would step up to improve the current AI data base. Much love to all!

Working on termite mounds for my prehistoric/africa big game games. Not 100% accurate but enough to hide from lions and terror birds. Now back to mini painting before starting on my wizard.

I finished my 3 190s. 2 are for the Tamiya GB and the Eduard one was for a buddy build with a few of my modelling buddies.

Thanks for looking

Clear coated, decaled, dull coated and started detail painting on these two HMMWV’s. The tow carrier came with enough decals to do both hmmwv kits so it worked out great since I did one in tri-color camo the second set of tan stencil decals were perfect. And a M1A1 with “CLaMS” system and at some point the mine plow, decals from various other abrams kits. the paint work was inspired by videos of Abrams posted on youtube by “PRAWRXD”. Might have slightly over did the black panel liner on the abrams but I like it kind of gives it a cartoon drawn style.

Was putting paint on the archer tonight, but not going out of the airbrush properly, so gave up, look at the issue later in the week

I went back to work on a dio that was on hold. I was tired of it. I thought it was about done, but wasn’t pleased with it, so went about making up a back wall and roof truss system:

This is a street view showing the wall that was built before (foreground), and now, the roof truss system and new wall in the distance holding it up.

I made the trusses using basswood and evergreen. I used the basswood because it doesn’t sag like evergreen does, and is now surprisingly strong, like an actual truss. The new truss worked out/fit the building pretty well because I installed a ledge along the outside wall (on the right above) when I built it, so had a strong, continuous, level surface to mount it to.

In this view you can see the truss, while the new wall is on the right side, next to the track. I added posts for the trusses between the tall windows.

This is a view of the new back wall. The truss construction is close to being done, and when it is, it’s off for paint and weather. The back wall is made up by recycling parts from an old project - this worked out relatively well, but as the new wall is curved, to match the curve in the track, it required a lot of cutting, rebuilding and adapting.
