Finally got all the rivets done on both halves of Blue Thunder’s tail boom.
My Fauntrailer has gotten some more colours…
And than some white and old brushes…
I did some work on the solid plastic flashlights…
Added some more colours and subassemblies…
And added something to one of the front seats…
Put some green and I mean green paint on the M1A2 Sep3 I think it will mellow out once more details get painted maybe a brown wash or panel liner will help. And I did tri-color splinter camo on the Typhoon-VDV.
Outstanding work on that splinter camo- looks awesome!
Applied the base coat on Commander Cain. Using AMMO Atom Light Pink Flesh Acrylic thinned with Mr. Color Leveling Thinner.
I’ll need to do another round of sanding before the next coat.
Thank you, I used a precut camo stencil I bought on ebay I made a few cuts here and there from the larger pieces to make shapes that fit in better for over lapping.
I did some painting and weathering on a roof truss system:
A key benefit that comes with an open roof and outdoor pics, are some nice shadows - as for the trusses, they are basswood and evergreen. I started with basswood because it doesn’t sag as much as evergreen, and when you mix and paint the two, it’s pretty hard to tell both materials are used. To provide some interest, bolt heads were added.
OK, on we go

I think someone should report Nick to the admin team, posting all these pictures as a model… like as if we would fall for it…
It looks really great!
Small step today. I replaced the kit winch drum with a piece of turned brass and spooled 0.6mm rope to make a more realistic job of the winch. Painted the pioneer tools as well.
This week (it is only Wednesday)…
(those ejection pin marks will never be seen, I’m not one of those)
(this is bigger than I expected)
(Kitty Hawk is the only option today in 1/48)
I refuse to be pigeonholed!
I hope you are joking
Dead serious, he won’t be fooling me nomore… ![]()
Test fitting the updated Blue Thunder fuselage.
The split white version printed smoother overall then the 1 piece first draft, and will work much better for adding the electronics I’m planning.
More or less the same pic as yesterday. Got the pioneer tools fitted and finished the front lights.
Probably need to dull down the finish on those tools as part of weathering.
Hobby On!
That’s entirely up to you. But you may want to touch up the brackets at the ends of the pry bar - they should be the vehicle color.
