What the postman brought today (Armorama)

Yesterday was the 50th anniversary of the Dutch Armour Association, a big event with a bunch of traders from not just the Netherlands but also Belgium, Germany and France. I didn’t buy very much, though

Mostly books, while the M3 light tank I had already bought second-hand from someone else, and I just took delivery of it yesterday because we were both at the event; the figure is Charles de Gaulle in 1940, and I won it in a raffle (which may come as a surprise to Kurt, I guess ).

Finally, I also received the missing sprue for the M4A1 Sherman I wanted to build last month from the shop I bought the kit from earlier this year. Funny thing was, I was heading over to where someone had told me their stand was, and about halfway there, coming the other way, I see a man who I thought, but wasn’t sure, is the shop’s proprietor (I’m not great with faces). He sees me as well, changes course and says, “I’ve got that sprue for you.” I’ve met him a few times before, but I didn’t even know he knew which face goes with my name …
