What the postman brought today (Armorama)

I got the m1240 RFM also. but with crows. There is a great 8 part video on youtube. Also another guy who did like a bunch of Youtube live events building it.

I’m trying to slow down acquiring kits, I really am. At some point the same will happen with aftermarket details as well.

So the some club member that I got the Bergepanzer from, also offered up the Takom Easy Eight. I got to say no one day but yesterday was not it.

I’ve used the Micro Mask and found it quite thick to apply but, once its dry, it works well and is very easy to remove.

Pretty sure I used it on my Porsche headlights, I found coverage can be a little tricky. Kinda like it shrinks when applied, a second coat over certain areas might be needed. When in doubt add more after it dries. This might be because it was over untreated clear plastic and it had nothing to grip to, idk.

Got a few Items for my Thunder Models 1/35th scale Scammell Pioneer R100 build: LZ Models wheels and the YAHU instrument panel. I thought I was sent the wrong panel as it says 1/72nd scale on the packet and the part is quite small:

On closer inspection, I realised the panel is very different to the one in the Thunder Kit.

Turns out this part, despite what YAHU printed on the packet and their blurb, is not a replacement for the Thunder part. Thunder have the early large instrument panel and housing, whereas YAHU make it for the later much smaller type. To use it on Thunder Models kit means you need to scratchbuild the housing it fits to!

The type in the Thunder Kit:

The late type YAHU did:

I don’t have an IBG one to compare, but based on the instructions, I’d say this will fit their R100 and 2V2S, albeit the R100 should have the larger panel.

HOWEVER, both IBG and YAHU have the 4 gauges in alignment along the bottom, when they were not, as per the image above and this one:

So basically, the YAHU part is useless. Zero out of 5 stars YAHU…

Yeehah! 'Been after this one for a while (at a reasonable price that is); a quick adjustment to the pockets and we’re good to go, say for 1960s/70s M48, M60s, M113s, M114s, Sheridan *et al:

Today I put some parts on the model to test, it works great, no problems at all. Tomorrow I get the “no more nails” stuff and fix, then I bring some pictures. I can just say it’s great and worth the money
