So the day before yesterday at AZ AMPS, we had our meeting and another continuation of the estate sale of a local modeler who passed on late last year. All proceeds from sales are donated to Wounded Warrior Foundation, as that was the guy’s favorite charity.
So, for a good cause, I picked up these items….
This one is maybe about 30% started…
This one was barely started, maybe 5% at most…
this really nice crew set…
and this base, of which I had recently been looking for something along these lines… plus a few odds and ends that really aren’t worth taking photos of…

I have seen that there are two sets for the Tiger from Aber, one is specialy for the Tunisian Tiger.
In my favourite model shop it costs €429,95…
Picked this one up today during a visit to the Tank Museum at Bovington with two of my grandsons.

Aha! Just note that the ejected 120mm shell case did not in fact, travel quite so far from the vehicle as the box art would have you believe!
Whilst I only have the Mk 1 kit, I’m sure this will build up well; an Aber metal barrel will enhance should you so decide (I would recommend it).
However - enjoy it Terry - a cracking kit I’m sure. You might, just might, wish to consider some of the camouflage paint schemes used in BAOR (as shown briefly within my thread on the Mk 1 - somewhere).

Yes, I looked at some of those schemes. Very tempting, but plenty of time to contemplate those, given that I have two further M41’s to get over the finish line (both in the paint shop at the moment), an AMX-30 build that was started and gets worked on during my Tank Museum modeller shifts, and an early IDF M60 that is close to paint. I also have a priority build (a sort of commission) of a MiniArt T-55 which (due to “track link insomnia”) has led to me resolving that the next AFV I start will be a wheeled vehicle of some sort!

Ah Sprue Brothers, you can always feel free to take my money! As I have a good start on various Tigers I realized I was woefully short on Panzer IV’s, Panthers and I just cant resist a good buy on Stug’s. So this was my first order (of many future ones) to address my fear of missing out.
I’m going to cut my teeth on the Tamiya figures I buy locally and knew some of these deserved some nicer figures when I build them. So I grab a selection of Miniart and Dragons. One day I’ll graduate to those nicer resin figures but for what they run my skills need to come up several steps. Hence the paint order I showed the other day.

I am just wondering about the vehicle on its side. If that was supposed to be previously hit by a 120mm, then all that would be left of it would be a stain on the ground…

It’s vicious isn’t it? We have one LHS, he carries primarily Tamiya in armor, I’ve grabbed what’s of interest to me already. We had another store get bought out by a guy younger than me and for the life of me I can’t figure out what he plans to do. No armor left at all and he bought it about 5 months ago. So as much as I want to support LHS I gotta mailorder since I’m seeing the fellows here discussing such wonderful kits! So Takoma, Dragon, AFV, RMF etc will be the bulk of my new purchases. Shame I’m not spending in town but they’ll still get my consumable business for the most part.

good price. Taking into account the tiger model itself, it costs under 600 euros …
That’s too much for me, I mean, you don’t know how many parts you can use. And if you can use them, there is maybe work on the parts to bring them on the model. I would spend more money to a model or AM-products, but then it must be certain, that it’s worth the money
I do like the almost quaint selection by the Brits of a vending machine manufacturer for the ejection mechanism, which often failed; but also the comparison between the US and Brit methods of handling the very heavy ammunition: the Americans (in their M103) squeezed in a second loader, whereas the Brits ensured that their loader was given extra PT!
It may of course be apocryphal although it wouldn’t surprise me.

no one knows yet about the number of parts that can be used. everything is fixable in the process.
