I took advantage of the weekend deal for 5004 as well. Kicking myself for not getting the dozer one as well
Following on from yesterdays post regarding resin parts getting broken in transit this is the latest crop from Blast Models. It was just in a Jiffy bag.
I also ordered a IR storage bin for a Panther which did arrive undamaged.
I presume that you have contacted Blast and told them that they need to use more resilient packaging.
I presume that you have contacted Blast and given them a blast… that is just ludicrous packaging. T-Rex package their stuff in a solid plastic box.
When Postie McMailman comes driving his forklift there is very few packages that will survive
but manufacturers need to at least make a serious attempt at safe packaging.
Some Chinese vendors on ebay insert precision cut strips of styrofoam along the inside edges
of model boxes to stiffen them for transport. Makes them 5 times more resilient.
@Uncle-Heavy @petbat
Yes I have contacted them. They were having administration problems, the package that arrived yesterday was “lost” in the French postal system. They had already sent a repeat order which I have the tracking information for, but you guessed it - it is also coming in a Jiffy bag!
Blast have been great when it comes to customer service and response times and I have been told if it arrives in the same state they will be reviewing the packaging used for future orders.
It used to be called ‘Postage & Packaging’ P&P… Hope you can recover or get replacements for your damaged goods. Things aren’t what they used to be are they?
The t-rex tracks are really good, but wintertracks for a panzer 4 in 1/16 costs more then 200,-€, that’s a little too much for me
Yeah, you are not alone on that one…
I agree that Blast are usually very good. My last order with them (a year or so ago) arrived in Oz well packed and in great condition. Your problems really surprised me. Hope the next one is OK.
best regards
John
Another sprue bros weekend sale, another model kit
One of these days I’ll gain some self control! Also grabbed some MRP paint and some ultra glue to try out
Got my zoukei mura sprue cutters yesterday and they do not disappoint
Have you ever tried scalehobbyist? They generally don’t have sales, reward programs or other gimmicks. I find them to be the best price by far.
For example if i odered Trumpeter’s 1/35 T-80BV right now SprueBrothers would charge me $85.13 shipped with the 15% discount.
Scalehobbyist would charge me $66.44 shipped and no tax.
Yes I look at scale hobbyist from time to time. I should probably consider them more often!
Nonsense my boy, there are far worse addictions, such as politics, watching so called, reality tv shows or chewing gum…
The Ultra Glues is excellent stuff. I love using MRP paints on wingy things.
Shipped from Ireland to USA in 8 days just in bubble wrap and not a dent on it! Unfathomable! It’s a beauty of a kit. Incredible crisp molding, wonderful parts, photo etch, and resin tires.
The only thing this kit needed was an aluminum barrel:
Also waiting for me this morning was the mantlet cover for my Tamiya Comet. The quality and detail are very nice on this one.
