What the postman brought today (Armorama)

Not delivered by the postman but gotten from Ikea. I’ve been looking for some storage for paint/primer/wash pots and other bits and pieces for some time now and I have been trawling eBay for a Bisley multi drawer cabinet but even 2nd hand they are crazy expensive. So then came across this in Ikea for a reasonable price and it fits perfectly under my work bench as despite it looking quite large it is only 69 x 41 x 28cm’s. Still it’s plenty big enough for what I want it for. Pic taken from the Ikea web page, I will post a pic once put together (of course because it’s Ikea)

It’s a cheaper version of the Bisley cabinet. It was £45 ($55) which I thought was reasonable. Are those pieces for kits you have Piotr or just in case bits. I love a trawl through bargain bins at model shows for stuff “just in case”.

The brass MG 34 bits & radio antenna came from Aber via Spruebrothers.com I just happened to see them years back at a model show, picked up a set and they quickly became my favorite item from Aber of all time! Have had to reorder etc. Easy to use and well worth it in my opinion.

I also like to look for such things… such trifles will always come in handy…, antenna bases will be useful for “Israeli” projects, the Comet tower in the hessian net for the Bronco model, etc… it will always be more consistent and less monotonous

All put together, well sort of. The top has tabs you bend to secure it which I haven’t used as it will be sturdier when I drill and use self tappers inside. Also the drawers have tabs you bend out to stop them coming all of the way out., this however stops at about 2/3rds out and you can’t see what might be in the back. I’ll be drilling and using pop rivets instead further back to allow the drawers to open further. Took about 40 mins in total. Banana for scale for our non metric brethren!!

Oh yes indeedy!! Thank you O Modelling Gods!

All as reported by Darren within the Reviews section; a nice touch being that the canopy is protected in a small cardboard box of its own (can’t quite remember if Darren observed on that, and also so excited can’t be arsed to check either).

Not that I need another kit or even another Land Rover really, but I couldn’t pass this one up; looks a little gem, and the markings options irresistible.
