Fresh from AHHQ, one of my favorite proposed subjects -
Now the Dragon Kugelblitz turret and spare Hetzer kit I have in the stash are destined for the next club table.
Also picked up these, that’s what I get for perusing the “New” page at Andy’s.

Opened the ZM clippers and disappointment. Bent tip. Retailer looks at pictures and says they are in perfect working order.
Do they look perfect to you? Am I missing something and the bend is meant to be there?
No Jim, your eyes are fine. The one jaw tip is definitely bent and broken off. They should meet in a perfectly machined point. Mine are not like that. That’s defective.
Thanks Matthew, I’ve told them they are faulty and don’t understand how they can look at the same pictures and think they are fine. Asked for replacement or refund. Will see what they say next and how the customer service really is.
Make sure to get a replacement. These nippers really are the best in the world and truly worth having.
I would be disappointed with this gap as well.
My cheap $5 Chinese side cutters have such a gap but I don’t expect anything better from cheap side cutters.
It should NOT be necessary to start off by re-grinding the cutting edges on an expensive tool.
I re-grind my cheap sidecutters but they WERE cheap …
Edit/Afterthought: Are you 100% certain that the cutters you received are authentic and not a fake?
Yeah Robin, that gap is a big issue too. The retailer is one of the biggest in the UK, so my assumption is that they are genuine, unless they have been duped. Will look into contacting the manufacturer too.
I’d carefully check each “jaw” for burrs as well
My ZM’s looked pretty good but one jaw has a burr and that spot with the burr doesn’t cut correctly. Cuts fine everywhere else.
Just received the M54a1 bed conversion set from Swoose Customs. First look, the parts look very good. Nicely packed and shipped. Wayne
WHAT!!!???
Sounds like my cheap cutters from China …
Site members will have often heard me complain about the dearth of Cold War figures and the subsequent need to convert which inevitably involves a lot of sanding; well, in a fit of rare initiative, I’ve invested in this little gadget – the DSPIAE ES-A Reciprocating Sander. It may well have been mentioned before, but I feel this might be the way ahead to relieve the tedium of sanding using normal sanding sticks and files:
As you can see, it comes with a variety of heads, and different grades of adhesive sanding paper.
I’ll see how it goes and report back!
(Available from the Scale Model Shop in the UK, for the sum of £35.99 – which I didn’t think was too punishing; postage £3.89)
No, I don’t think that’s the case. They are very precise. Everything is spot on except that one small blemished area. Unlike other ZM’s, mine left a small divit or burr on plastic parts from the very start. If you avoid the blemished part of the blade they cut very nicely. Their very fine point made them valuable enough I decided not to send them back, as the very point is good. I can cut hard to reach spots with them I can’t with the GodHand’s or DSPIAE’s.
I suspect they were dropped during packaging etc. Just random bad luck.
I plan to buy another pair.
Outsourced the manufacturing after the market breakthrough?
Greetings from sunny Estonia -
This kit is absolutely incredible. Detail is through the roof. All the ejector pin marks are on the inside - no filling required. Will be building this with a barrel and tracks as soon as I finish my T31.
I finally received my birthday package from my extended family! (Just over a month late)
Inside was a 1/35 Tamiya 20mm Flak 38 with a sneakily inserted PE kit and a file from MBK.
The PT-76 is a neat little vehicle. I once was able to get a trickshot from across a harbor while swimming through the waves in War Thunder with one. Hopefully this vehicle will make for a good model.
I have long wanted to build a number of Polish vehicles and currently have two such projects on the assembly line. About two months ago, I became aware of a fairly new Polish 7TP with twin turrets. Since I missed the ones released in the 1990s, I decided to purchase the much newer model.
The single turret version of this model was discussed recently. If I recall correctly, SSGToms gave it very high marks. After ordering the twin turret version and required paints, I subsequently read a post claiming the suspension has a major accuracy issue. The exact nature of the issue is unknown to me.
The model looks very nice in the box. It comes with link and length tracks, a complete fighting compartment, and a complete engine compartment. I hope to build it in a month or two.
