What the postman brought today (Armorama)

It’s what, 25 years old or so? I consider that new Tamiya

'Couldn’t resist it but the Cromwell is one of my favourite tanks as it just looks the part; pic below taken during my recent holiday described more fully elsewhere:

Cool, got to love a Cromwell.
Got two Tamiya Cromwell’s, a Centaur and one of the new Airfix Cromwell’s in the stash together with two Bronco Comets the second release as I missed out the first time round and of course one of the Tamiya Comets.

Well 11th Armoured’s dash across Germany in the last months of the war was headed by Comets and recce Cromwell’s.

Luciano, that reminds me, have you read “Warriors for the Working Day” by Peter Elstob? If that doesn’t get you building Comets (and Shermans come to that) I don’t know what will!

Cheers Brian, found it on Audible and saved it for my credit day, however it won’t get me building Sherman’s. Cromwell’s, Comets, Pz,IV and Pz.III yes but not Sherman’s.

Absolutely love British armor, and the Cromwell is the pinnacle of British tank design in my eyes

Rather than, say, the Comet or Centurion?

Both are also great British designs. But to me the Cromwell (and the comet by association) just scream British tank design

I’m fairly sure that second part was felt too by everyone who had to work on them

Got this set of decals from Echelon for my M1A1HC build.

This will be the one I choose.

These superb resin replacement wheels arrived this morning, for my Trumpeter MAZ 537G plus semitrailer.

They are a big improvement on the Trumpeter supplied vinyl set and I noticed that they are also “handed” in that tread patterns are the correct way round for left and right sided wheels. An obvious but much appreciated detail certainly for me, when wheels are supplied complete with hubs in the same moulding.

Also, compared to the excellent Tankograd drawings, they are right on the money for diameter, width and detail. Well done Hussar Productions!

Just need to get on and finish the MAZ!

Definitely a better option - width looks a lot better as well.

Managed to pick this up today during my shift at the Tank Museum.

Not had a chance to look at it yet, but the accounts I’ve read suggests it’s pretty good.

So @BlackWidow further to your suggestions in my MAZ “what did you do in your workshop today” posting this will be my Western AFV that will sit atop the MAZ-537!

Maybe I should start a build thread on the part built MAZ and include this one too.

Have no interest in IDF vehicles, these will be built up as Canadian M38A1’s. The new IDF specific sprues add some of the missing pieces the Canadian versions had like the jump seats for the 106 gunners

I could never get away with that. My wife is a Certified Public Accountant. and she never watches The Young and The Restless.

The Office, Grey’s Anatomy, Ozark etc can all work equally well as distractions! :grinning:
