What the postman brought today (Armorama)

Terry, that Charioteer is a great kit; it was my first ever partial-resin project (as opposed to full resin kit) and gave me the confidence to tackle more complex resin kits.

It’s also a generally ignored facet of British armour history. I greatly enjoyed mine, which you may recall (not meant to be a hijack by any means):

Thanks Brian. I do recall yours. It certainly looks a good conversion, and Tamiya’s Cromwell seems to be up there with their best.

Interesting, I’ve had that book for ages — I had kind of expected you to own a copy already

For me, the postman delivered my order from Accurate Armour:

Aha! Nice to see the Vixen; 'always a fan. I remember when it was almost in service.

I too have one - unbuilt naturally(!)

I’ve liked the looks of the Vixen ever since I first saw photos of it in the Arms & Armour book about the CVR(T) series, something like 35 years ago. Now Accurate Armour is going out of business, I figured it was now or never to be able to build it someday. The main question now is, in which colours? Prototype doesn’t really appeal to me, so it’ll likely become a what-if.

A man after my own heart! I too saw that Arms & Armour publication - I may even still have it somewhere.

To me, for once, as a prototype in gloss Bronze Green it would look just a tad boring; however, in black and green, cam nets, stowage - crew in DPM and bonedomes - wow!

I reached for the bookshelf behind me as I typed my previous message to look up the photos to make sure my memory of the book they’re in was correct

Either that, or as a plausible other user of the vehicle. Which would probably be a country that also had Foxes — though that limits it to the UK, Malawi and Nigeria, those could well turn up something interesting, too. Or perhaps BATUS range safety, that will go nicely with the Ferret I built some years ago.

Now that would be something a BATUS “Red Top” range safety Vixen. That’s the trouble with this What-if business - it so easily gains traction(!)

Spruebrothers 25% off sale on selected items!

However, the import & tariffs agent imposed “sanctions” on new 1/35 AFV kit purchases.

Only one way to resolve that conundrum…by selecting upgrades like Pz IV engine, Leo 2A6 tracks and a 1/48 aircraft!

Expect the a new sanction know as “if it flies, it dies…no things w/wings” to be instituted.

However, there may be an opening now to order airplane paints or mask etc and slip something else past customs…

You can’t have enough 109s! :+1:

You have three more genres to work with auto, ship and sci-fi. Spread it out and the customs agent will be confused.

In the mailbox this morning. Seems to be worth the steep price tag. Its big and it is heavy as hell. The wife just shakes her head because she knows it will lead to more boxes in the mail containing KV kits and parts.

Just curious, how big is the section on the Beutepanzer if you don’t mind me asking.

Thank you,
Randy
